A place to put your drone photos because firearms aren’t your only hobby.

Drone hobbyists
I’m no photo expert and brand new to drones. I have absolutely no editing or filter skills. I just post photos I took that I like. Please feel free to post your pictures here too.

Re: Drone hobbyists
I've always said I'd never buy another RC thing that wasn't on land use only, but I've been wanting one of these for a long time. I've had stupid luck with boats and sucked with choppers and planes...haha After seeing some INSANELY awesome drone footage of places I've been, I've wanted one since. I could see this post making me finally pull the trigger on one. Awesome pics and vids guys!

The stabilization of these in the wind is awesome compared to flying older RC helicopters and planes.
Plus DJI has Google Maps built into the screen so if you lose sight of your drone the map feature shows where your drone is. Plus the return to home button will land your drone from spot of take off.
It was cool taking family photos on the beach at sunset at 20 feet.

Re: Drone hobbyists
I would suggest to go with a well known manufacturer. Look for one that has tracking and obstacle avoidance sensors. Don’t be afraid of paying the $5 and registering it. Check where you live against a no-fly map because if you live in a restricted area, you may not even be able to get the drones props to spin.Niceguy wrote:The wife wants me to get one too. Re: Drone hobbyists
I think I've got it narrowed down to DJI Mavic Air 2 or Mavic Pro 2. Pretty sure I'll go with the Air 2, as I don't see where the 25%+ more cost of the Pro 2 would be a need or even a want. I think the Air 2 will even probably be an over kill for my tech abilities on the editing side of it. I was leaning toward the Mini, or Mini 2 but I think I'd like a little more that the slightly larger ones have for when I travel to get some badass island videos and pics. Now to start looking for deals, because I'm a deal whore...haha

Re: Drone hobbyists
From the best I can tell so far, the airport (a little over 50 miles from me) is the nearest no fly zone to me. I definitely need to do more research on laws and insurance and stuff forsure.

Re: Drone hobbyists
The Boys at work hire a guy to fly his Maviv Pro as a spotting target. He can have the drone programed to go out to a distance/altitude and hover. Really kool

Re: Drone hobbyists
That's a really good price.
Costco bundles are usually less than just buying the drone itself on Amazon.
