Am I an idiot for wanting a new caliber right now?

Post by Tyler » Tue Jan 26, 2021 10:40 am

I’ve been too broke and mostly selling off guns for the last few years, but now I’m ready to blow some dough. It looks like I would’ve been better off buying under Obama than this current bs, but maybe there’s some sources I don’t know about or forgot about. Should I even try to get into .308 or 6.5 CM right now?

The heart wants what it wants! Go for it. Just be patient. I'm looking for 500 JRH. Almost unobtainium for now. It's a hobby.
I know not what the future holds, but I know Who holds the future.

Just trying to find something in stock has become a hobby in itself.

I’ve got a savage axis 270 if that might interest you. Decided to keep my 270 pump & savage 6.5 CM.

I know the 270 is not a long range shooter like the 308 or 6.5 but if it’s just for hunting it’s a good round.

I’ll keep that in mind. Currently leaning towards the AR-10 platform.

If you're looking into getting a semi auto EBR type and you already have one staring at you at the moment then you may want to jump on it. We have no real idea what the clowns in DC are going to do next and it could very well be illegal for you to buy one in a couple of weeks or months. At least then you'll have one for when you find ammo.
There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

I've wanted a 6.5CM for a while. Go SCAR20 in 6.5CM... That will help you spend some bucks! haha

buds has 6.5 creedmoor ammo on the "LEO, Military, 1st responder, almost anyone else" counter but I think its like 25 a box or more. (Anything on that counter is 25 or more, slightly less than their price for all the common folk.)

With a .308 you can at least find supplies to reload your ammo.

Midway USA had everything but primers this morning.

I just bought a 6.8 SPC upper and didn't realize how crazy that ammo is. I found some for $1.35 per round so at least I have a 100 rds to fire off.
