Re: 1911 Picture Thread
Kinda hard to follow up to Mexican Kerry's pic, but I'm proud of these two. Just picked up the Ruger SR1911 Commander. Had it Cerakoted at Kentucky Outdoorsman in Corbin. Very pleased with how it turned out!

I appreciate the compliment! Took it to the range for the first time last weekend, and put 200 rounds through it. Shot well, until FTFs at about the 160 round mark. I blame it on the fresh Cerakote job. I think when it wears off the friction areas, it'll be fine.jmeister wrote:That is on my short list. And you should be. I'd like to pick up a Ruger but I'm waiting for them to release a blued one.9mil wrote:Kinda hard to follow up to Mexican Kerry's pic, but I'm proud of these two.
Besides, everyone knows I just grab random pics from the net and post them here as my own!

I'm interested in seeing a blued one as well, I'm surprised they didn't release one when they brought out the Lightweight Commander.Mexican Kerry wrote:And you should be. Re: 1911 Picture Thread
I've seen the Talo Navy Seal Foundation edition pistol, as well as a couple of two tone versions. I want one just like the pre-release photos from a few years ago when they first announced they were making a 1911. Of course I can't find a pic of it though. It was pretty sexy for a "modern" 1911.

Maybe thats the one I saw as it did say Talo on it if I remember right. Don't remember SEAL beign on the card but could have been it. For the money I would have just had the cheaper Stainless steel one.

Re: 1911 Picture Thread
That's a sweet looking Ruger. Have had my hands on a couple, but haven't bought one. Instead, I was a dope and bought a Para Ordnance.9mil wrote:Kinda hard to follow up to Mexican Kerry's pic, but I'm proud of these two. Just picked up the Ruger SR1911 Commander. Re: 1911 Picture Thread
I have to say that I really like my full size SR1911, a lot. It makes a great companion to my old AMT Hardballer short slide, which has been my goto 1911 for over 30 years, now.

Re: 1911 Picture Thread
'Tis gone now ... A fellow at one of the last gun shows had a real 'hankering' to own one ... and met my price, so I shed a tear and pocketed the money ...Joe wrote:Hand it to me I will shoot it.adayton wrote:Kimber Sapphire ... Don't know if I can bring myself to shoot this one ...
It's one of those that I ill regret down the road though ...
I have started hanging on to more of my guns (probably more than I should... but what the heck... It's only money... lol)
Next one I get, I will probably take it out and shoot ...That's really the only regret I have for this one presently...

Are you referring to the Night Watchman units (5" and 4.25")??Dave1965 wrote:Mexican Kerry wrote:I've seen the Talo Navy Seal Foundation edition pistol, as well as a couple of two tone versions. They also had a limited edition Talo exclusive that had the stainless frame with a black Cerakoted slide and different grips.
Damn, just checked the Ruger website and the Night Watchman pistols are no longer there. Guess I better get off of my butt and find one of each.
Update: Found them. They have them listed in the Distributor Exclusives section. #6708 and #6709. The Navy Seal edition is also listed #6704.

Re: 1911 Picture Thread
No when Ruger first announced their 1911 it was a blued 5" pistol with double diamond checkered rosewood/laminated stocks. It was about a year before they were actually released. I remember WANTING one bad but when they actually came out as a stainless model I backed off.BK Meyers wrote:Are you referring to the Night Watchman units (5" and 4.25")??BKDave1965 wrote:Mexican Kerry wrote:I've seen the Talo Navy Seal Foundation edition pistol, as well as a couple of two tone versions.
