Almost finished with my first build.

So far:
Anderson Upper/ New Frontier Lower
CMMG lpk
Bravo Company BCG and random CH
Faxon 14.5 Barrel with a pinned YHM phantom
Low profile midlength gas system
LaRue stock
Magpul AFG
Atlas Bipod
Surefire light
Custom Shooting Technologies (CST) R.R.A.C. detachable rail system. This product was just released by CST in Bagdad, KY.

I am undecided about the optics. I am considering the Trijicon RMR or Aimpoint Micro T-1 or T-2 with LaRue mount. Thoughts?
The goal is lightweight and simple.

I'm a big Aimpoint fan.

I'd pass on the T-1/2 in favor of the H1 myself. In fact, that's exactly what I did the last time I bought a micro.

The T-1 doesn't really have a place in Aimpoint's continued line-up if you ask me. If the cost of the T-1 over the H-1 is worth it to fill your needs, the T-2 is worth the cost over both.

If you're not using a magnifier, not using night vision devices, and not diving with your rifle, the H-1 will serve you well. If you ARE doing any of the previously listed activities, require the most rugged micro sight available, require the cleanest possible dot in a micro, or want a design featuring purpose-built see-through lens covers, go with the T-2. The T-2 does use newer technology that results in a crisper dot, ESPECIALLY when magnified.

The RMR's durability doesn't compare to the Aimpoints'. Only one serious shooter that I know of uses the RMR as a primary rifle optic.

As for mounts, I prefer the LT751. Super light, LaRue quality, absolute cowitness.

Thanks. From what I have read and the people I have talked to say the Aimpoints are rock solid and the battery life is great.

Great info. I would like to get a magnifier down the road and night hog hunting might be in the future. I want to buy once.

Most people seem to be running the RMR's as back-ups and on their sidearms.

I was thinking about the LT660 mount even though I probably won't be running back-up sights on this set-up right now. Is the absolute cowitness natural or did it take getting use to visually?

I prefer absolute cowitness and find it more natural. If you're looking at magnifiers/night vision, get a T-2 for sure.

Isn't the t1 just nv over the h1? I don't have them but that's what I remember someone that had them telling me I believe.

I will take a look at LT751 before ordering. I think the T-2 would be the best choice for what I want to do.

T-1 has nv, deeper water resistant pressures and tolerates extreme temperatures better.

Ah H1 for me then if I had the want. I'll rock trs25 and sparcs until they don't work.
