Thought if post some pics up as I gather parts and then later assembly pics.

Using a Spikes honey badger lower. This may end up being my first tax stamp gun.

Nice. I'd love to do a .300 upper for my SBR with a short barrel and dedicated can

Suppressed? Rolling your own ammo?

Yep. I'm set up to roll my own. I am buying the cheap Wal-Mart 300blk to aquire brass. Not up to cutting 223 brass. Hope to put a fancy pdw stock and a supressor next year.

I'm halfway considering the echo trigger so I will need to use a stock that does not require a proprietary bolt carrier

FWIW, I acquired a Troy Tomahawk in a trade. Definitely do not recommend that as an option. Bought a Maxim Defense pdw stock at the NRAAM. This is a very nice solidly built aluminum stock that uses a JP buffer assembly and the upper can be removed from the lower just as a normal AR breaks down. Pretty easy 1 handed operation to adjust length. I have handled the MVB stock as well. The MVB is very well made and pretty simple to operate. The Troy is a 2 handed operation and has a buffer that you have to capture in the buffer tube with a push button to break down the rifle. The button to adjust the stock length is right in line and in very close proximity to the buffer button which is very easy to inadvertently press when trying to adjust the stock. I'm sure there are others available. Just my .02 on the 3 I mentioned.

Well since you are going suppressed go ahead and get an adjustable gas block. I needed one to make mine run correctly on my pistol gas system. Eventually I will finish tuning my loads with the 243Gr cast bullets I have. 1/7 twist for the super heavy stuff, I only run 200gr and heavier out of mine. I have a 16" carbine gas 300blk that runs supers great and subs decent.

I built my Hawg Hammer on a Honey Badger lower, using a pistol length gas system on a 10" barrel. It runs great, both suppressed and supersonic.

Crush, kill, mangle, maim, destroy.

I have a 8.5 inch melonited 1:7 twist barrel. Pistol gas with a Midwest industries gas block for now. I haven't decided on a adjustable block but I figure ill get one when I buy the supressor. Not sure on what can to get either.

Kinda of a sidetrack, but what are are the advantages of subsonic 300blk over a .45acp? I'm considering doing a .45acp AR over a 300blk. Mostly do to ammo cost and availability.

I like the ability to go from a 120gr supersonic to a 220gr subsonic with only a magazine change. I like the ability to load my own ammo with the huge selection of .308 match grade and hunting rounds. Parts compatability is 99% only the barrel is different from a 556 gun. Also a high cool factor.

Just waiting on a longer Hogue handguard to cover the kak flashcan. I considered a surefire brake and warden but that was a lot of money to drop on the muzzlebrake when I'm not sure if I will be using a surefire supressor or not. Got the kak flashcan on sale for $25.

What length is that handguard on there now?

Its a 7 inch handguard. The one I have ordered will look the exact same but will be about 9 inches

Think hard about using different colored magazines for .300BLK vs 5.56/.223. I use black for .223 and OD green for .300BLK.

Crush, kill, mangle, maim, destroy.

My black pmags are for 5.56 and my tan pmags are for 300blk. Always.

Got a strike industries mag catch to replace the parts kit catch on the way with my longer tube. And I need to swap my odg trigger guard for a black one.

I also mark the O D green mags with "+" for supersonic rounds and "-" for my subsonic loads.

Crush, kill, mangle, maim, destroy.
