Re: 300 blackout ammo
Most places its just under $20 for 20 rds.So .50 is pretty good. That would be a bit closer to 308 prices.busadave wrote:i agree, the reason i built mine is because id like to hunt with the ar.and the 300 is a lil more punch.ammo around here is around $24 for 20Whootsinator wrote:>$0.50/round ammo is NOT 'good for plinking' in my book.

Re: 300 blackout ammo
I make my own for .37/rd currently. This isn't that bad a price, if I needed it, I would buy this & be reasonably happy.

You gotta pay to play
I know I will build a 300 before it's all said and done.......
Ammo prices is the only reason I don't have one already.......

Re: 300 blackout ammo
How do you want to get hooked up? I can't (and won't) sell ammo I reload. If you want to learn, I'll be happy to teach you. I get the price that low by making my own brass from reclaimed .223 brass, buying supplies in bulk (& shopping prices like a mofo), and having paid for most of the tools & gear years ago. I figure my time is my own, so I don't factor that into my costs, I find it relaxing.
It doesn't have to be expensive to get started in reloading, you just need patience & to understand that speed is not the objective at first. Realisticly, you can get started on one cartridge type for about $150 in tools and the cost of powder, primers, bullets, & brass.
A deep fear & understanding that you are handling hazardous materials that can go BOOM! is needed. With a healthy respect and attention to detail, I have been reloading for nearly 31 years without ever having an accident on my reloading bench.

Re: 300 blackout ammo
sory, not asking for you to reload me some.if i got into reloading it would be for 300 blk out.i have 3000 plus of 223.the 300 is so exspensive.ive looked at the pe primered cases per 500,powder and brass.wasnt too bad.just a single loader and the know how is all i need.but i know id be wanting to reload everything else also.including the de 50 cal.

I make my own brass from the buckets of .223 brass I have collected over the years. I just found some pulled 147 grn M80 bullets for $120 per K, Tula primers for $22 per K and powder at .06 per round that gets it down to .20 per round. I think that is very reasonable. Shoots fairly accurate at about 1.6 MOA which is plenty acceptable for a plinking round.

no problem I have picked up 5k of these over the last month. Quick shipping and good product. They some times sell out but keep watching they restock regularly.Wyldman wrote:May I ask where you got the bullets? My .37/rd includes Sierra Match King 220gr blems I got on sale from Midway.

Re: 300 blackout ammo
That's where my son is starting, along with a scale, a couple of reloading manuals, & some case prep tools. I still use my hand press quite often, especially at the range while developing loads or when batch processing brass.
