Muzzle devices

Post by gaston_kalash » Thu Nov 13, 2014 9:44 pm

Post here your favorite muzzle devices and reviews. So far I have to say the standard flash hider is my favorite. Right now I have a AAC 2.0 brake out on my 11.5 SBR. It is supposed to be good at both hiding flash and help stay on target. I have to say it does ok at recoil reduction but terrible at flash hiding and keeping the muzzle down. I'll probably keep it just because I plan on picking up a can in the future and like the QD mount that it has. Here are some pics and a vid.

Oh also it is extremely loud and makes an annoying ping noise.

I've currently got a BattleComp 2.0 on a 10.3" barrel, so I know all about loud

if I was to buy again I'd either get the flash hider or the comp version not the hybrid.

When I get some more ammo I'm going to put it on my 16" middy and see what it does on it and see if the short barrel is what's making all the extra flash.

the loudness is fun but I wouldn't want to use it for self defense without ear pro or a can.

I'd like to try out BCM's muzzle device and see how it does. Anyone on here have any experience with the mod 0 or even the mod 1?

My favorite muzzle device is my YHM Phantom 7.62 suppressor.

I've put 400+/-50 rounds through my BCM 14.5" middie w/ Gunfighter Comp Mod 1. Recoil is hardly there, noise isn't noticeably increased, no pressure/sound differences as the shooter, side pressure MIGHT be a bit more robust than a standard A2, but it's not horrible or even bad, and I haven't compared the two side by side. I will say while straight-rearward recoil is mitigated well, the muzzle does tend to 'drift' in my very limited experience.

I think I would probably choose a Battlecomp over the BCM, but the BCM's low price makes it the best value in my eyes. One day I'll have a Battlecomp 51T and a can to match! I would be very interested in firing the BCM next to the Battlecomp on otherwise similar rifles (same barrel length, gas tube length, gas port diameter, ammo, BCG, and buffer).

The AAC brake out drifts as well. I'm looking for one that does the opposite but it could be more user error than the device I'm using because I have had 0 training.

The BC51.0 is what I want on the SBR, but I'm probably going to have to wait and get it later. Probably start with the blackout since I'll have $200 to spend on AAC's website after I buy the can. I can get to blackouts and put them on both rifles.

It is designed similar to the dynacomp it looks like
"But now," he said, "take your money and a traveler's bag. And if you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one" -Jesus (Luke 22:36 NLT)
