Ares BCG problems.

Post by Niceguy » Sat Oct 25, 2014 12:03 am

I put together a pistol lower and put on a pre assembled upper. Had a new Ares BCG from Aim and it seems to be a problem. I swapped it around in 2 other rifles and this pistol with different CH also. It's the common problem. It sticks in every gun and combo. Are these known to be pos? The CH unlocks and moves 1/4-1/2" and then sticks. Even when not locked down on the lowers you have to shake it and jack around with it to release. Won't release at all when upper and lower is assembled. It definitely could be something I'm doing (still a noob), but don't think so because swapping BCG's, CH between 3 uppers. It's the only part that is always the problem. 3 different Gunfighter CH, 3 uppers and 2 other BCG's all work fine together.

That amount of movement it sounds like the lugs on the bolt aren't disengaging from the barrel extension properly. Could be maybe the cam pin hanging up or the bolt head is out of spec. Those are just my guesses.

Aim knows that some of these have problems. There is a thread on arfcom and aim has made it right. Give them a call. Mine works pretty well on my 100% suppressed 300blk. Dirty often and wipes clean.
