Any experience with Radical Firearms?

Post by Penguin23b » Mon Jan 05, 2015 10:59 am

Hey all I'm new to KAC. Was wondering if anyone has any experience with Radical Firearms. I just ordered one of their complete uppers from Primary Arms to try out. Thought I would ask about other people's experiences while I wait for it to arrive. Thanks

They have had some problems with their uppers- barrel nuts not torqued down for one; go over it with a fine tooth comb.

Will do. I also read they had an issue with the barrels coming loose from the barrel extensions due to their meloniting process. We shall see

Got the Radical upper in. Fit and finish look good, but only a trip to the range will tell if she'll run well or not. So far I cant complain. :D

I doubt that what ever treatment a barrel extension has would cause barrels being lose
As they are pined to the extension.

It was something about them doing the melonite after the extensions were installed and them not pinning them properly. Of course that was claims from arfcom, so who knows if it actually happened or not. Btw crank im the guy that hit you up on facebook about installing the odinworks free float on my bushy xm10. I should have it sometime next week

Just thought I would post an update about my experience with the RF upper. It seems to be short stroking. It ejected fine, but most of the time it wouldn't pick up the next round. The few times that it did pick up the next round, it failed to feed all the way into the chamber and jammed. I ran it on a Bushmaster lower assembled by me (no expert), a PSA factory lower, and a Colt LE6920 lower. Also tried 10, 20, 30rd magpul Pmags, 30rd GI mags, and 30rd Lancer L5 mags. Same problem despite the combination. Will be contacting the company I purchased from tomorrow to get the issue resolved.

Sound like your gas block is not over the gas port.

Crank, I'm going to see what the seller has to say. I had a few successful feeds, but it was 3-4 malfunctions to 1 successful feed. If they don't agree to a refund, I'll bring it by to see what you can do with it.
