Wow. There are some "brave" people in a few of those pics. And they aren't customers.

Camera angle makes it look pretty intense, lol.

I was noticing that. I think I would have puckered a little being slightly down range. Lol

That's what I actually figured but still gives me shivers thinking about an accident.

I've been in training where we had 5 instructors downrange where we were doing dummy drills and dime drills with dummy rounds when a live round went off. Even after we were instructed to double check for a possible live round that was dropped in the dummy round box. Talk about getting spooked!

Again he was really way out in front of everybody just hanging out, it's mostly camera angle.

Is this something a fat, old semi-cripple could participate in? I really would like to get more formal training, but I worry about being able to handle it physically. I just can't move around like I could before the injury.

Ditto. I've seen too many guys break the 180 while reloading or clearing a malfunction to stand anywhere forward of the firing line.

As I travel deeper into middle-age I'm not as gutsy as I used to be. ;)

Safety is number one in RWI Courses.......period. It was my first time ever trying to take pictures of people shooting. I was trying to not distract the shooters so I tried to be just behind their periphial (sp?) vision. Shooting them from this angle, it makes 325 look to be in a way different position than what he actually was. On the photo where he is between the 2 firing lines, there is alot of space between him and and the line on either side. You just can't tell it from my photos. I was shooting high ISO, shutter speed and aperture trying to catch the spent casing in midair. This really distorts the depth of field. If you were there, you would have seen the real perspective.

Not to mention "camera lens foreshortening" which increases with focal length to make two or more objects appear closer than they are in reality in whats known as perspective distortion". Commonly used in movie filming and when done on purpose it's called "Forced perspective" to give an illusion of size, big or small.

There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.
