Re: Pulled Over While CCW
Good thing it wasn't NYC cops, with their record he would probably be dead with 22 hits out of 40 rounds fired.
There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.
Re: Pulled Over While CCW
I got pulled over once before I had my CCDW, but I had my 1911 in the glovebox at the time. The officer just had me get out of the car and he retrieved it from the glovebox. The funny part came when the officer was struggling to rack the slide to unload it (cocked and locked, always). The only thought running through my mind was "ohh my god, this guy is gonna shoot himself with my gun." Back up arrived, appeared to mock his fellow officer for missing the safety, and secured the gun accordingly.
Other than that, got a warning for having a brake light out and was sent on my way.

Re: Pulled Over While CCW
Most police give CCDW holders an easier way to go. From my experience. Please dont let this thread cause anyone to doubt getting their
CCDW license. If you live in Louisville, maybe you should move south.

This one cop doesn't represent the entire city of Louisville.wash wrote:Boycott going to Louisville. If you can. I know I won't spend a dime there.
Re: Pulled Over While CCW
I have been struggling trying to get on with the local cops here for over 5 years, and its jackass like the officer mentioned that prevent honest people from joining the force and protecting the community.
Please file a complaint and pursue anything that can be done on this matter.
I probably would have messed my britches if I had been pulled on with no reason for it.

Re: Pulled Over While CCW
He was at the rear of my window (I drive a mustang) and when he asked about the license plate light and then flashlighted the back seat, he said "Holy Sh*t" drew and had his firearm aimed about midway on my door and my person. I wasn't expecting it whatsoever, and I had forgotten about the ammo laying there. For a few seconds I was pretty confused and shocked that was the reaction that came about, but he holstered his weapon and I explained about the ammo, and assured him that no weapons were in the vehicle at the time and then he asked me to step out of the vehicle for the rest of everything.Frailer wrote:One question for the OP: you said the officer "drew his weapon and aimed."
My question is, "aimed at what?"
I know that he over-reacted, and I understand that I COULD have refused the search, but all the while this is going on, it entered my mind that these ARE the officers that patrol MY neighborhood and I have never had an issue with anything before out of them.
It was about 2AM, I didnt have to work the next morning (yesterday), I was alone, and It didnt effect me going to work, school, or doing anything else other than me getting home sooner. I understand my rights, I was well aware I could have refused the search, and the officer had enough reasonable suspicion to stop me given my area, vehicle and so forth, and I know that the ammo alone does not give enough probable cause to search unwarranted or unconsented. I also know that there is no escalation point of force. Beings that there is no "routine to follow" when an officers "feels" his life is in danger. An officer can go from making an apperance as a deterrent straight to deadly force. Granted it was large caliber RIFLE ammo, and he should have had more reserve, but if HE felt his life was in danger, he (according to LMPD SOP) was within his training to draw his weapon.
The thing is HE was not in danger, had I had an occupant or a passenger then, YES he could justify it. But, the fact that I was ALONE and he already had ONE CAR as backup on the scene, his life was in no risk whatsoever if he wanted to say to was his routine or traning to do so.
Reasonable suspicion and Probable cause are two different things, and I believe that this is where a lot of officers make mistakes by getting them confused. One does NOT give proceeds to the other.
Im not saying what happened was right. Im not saying it was 100% wrong either. The stop was justified due to the events, my vehicle, and my neighborhood. The drawing of the weapon, NO. Had I been in his position, I wouldn't have drawn my weapon due to loose rounds. It was an over-reaction and a huge one at that.

I live in the same neighborhood and wont let the cops push me around. One cop tried to search the truck while at 5star but my wife would not let him. I was not with her. I open carry most of the time now.

Re: Pulled Over While CCW
Let's keep one thing in mind: they were not born that way. They were brainwashed by the academies and DHS who want them to think "everyone not in uniform is suspicious." That's one reason I refuse to watch shows like Law and Order. It's another way the media breeds fear and divides us.Nolan wrote:I know there are very professional and honest police out there but some of these mofos have barny fife syndromeAr-Rob wrote:I hate cops and give them shit whenever I can
But thankfully, I've never met such persons.
