My parents yelled at my graduation and no one went to jail.

It does seem excessive but I have had several experiences at graduations where this gets totally out of control--actually at my daughter's graduation some foreigners were blowing air horns and throwing confetti and the sheriff had to escort them out--at my nephews graduation a group of african americans went into a embarassing celebration after a their daughter walked up onto the stage disrupting the entire event--if the audience is asked to be respectful they should be and should be considerate of others--it is bad when it gets to this point but she should of complied with the rules.

You got to remember, they've probably never had anyone in their family actually make it all the way through high school. It's a new experience for them.
There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

I would be willing to bet that she was asked to leave and threw a fit leading to the arrest

Sad when police have to be at graduation ceremonies because people want to act like animals.

Im guessing there is much more to this story than we are being told . More liberal media IMO targeting there favorite audience to start an uproar over nothing.

I remember that there were plenty of white families at my graduation thT stupidly couldn't contain their celebration when their son/daughter's names were called.

As annoying as it was, I defly don't think any of em deserved to be locked up over it.

Since when did race become involved in this at all? YOu are the first to mention the race of the woman arrested. Doesnt matter what color she was, i would bet that they left out a very key point in the story where she did something extra stupid and thats why she was arrested, not simply for cheering for her daughter.

About time disrespectful people are arrested

Post by jackalo626 » Wed Jun 06, 2012 5:17 pm

Even when I graduated years ago they ask you to remain quit during the individual name calling and to let it loose at the end for them all but several kept doing it anyway. It is rude for everyone and she just happened to be one of the examples to learn their are consequences for her actions. They are going to be with their kids for hours that day and many opportunities to tell them they are proud. How sad is it she stresses how much she had to go through to get her kid to pass public school < what I specifically mean is if it took a village to get this kid motivated enough to pass school then they are in for a wake up call when everybody isnt pushing them to go to work etc...

On a side note my family got in a fist fight at my graduation for someone pushing my 85lb 70+ year old grandma. They won fight and was self defense by everyone witnessing and other family booted and mine was apologized to. Sad it happened but proud for them standing up to bullies.

If the request/demand is made to remain quiet, it should be followed. Assuming that it is applied equally across the board, disobey at your own risk.

You all are missing the point though. She wasn't arrested for "cheering". She was arrested after they asked her to leave. I am assuming there was a confrontation and she probably refused to leave. And i am just going out on a limb here, but i bet she made a nice little scene and i am willing to bet was a little loud.

Just a random guess though.......

I agree however it does not say in the story that she was asked to leave. Unless I missed that part. Otherwise just going on the story (which I agree seems like something is missing) its just saying she was arrested for cheering.

Not saying your wrong just saying according to the story (remember I said I think something is missing as well do it could be wrong and probably is) she was arrested for cheering..
