Louisville Armory..formerly TG&G
Stopped by today, not to shoot, just to check the place out. Probably going tomorrow to do some shooting.
It's laid out differently than last time I was there when it was TG&G. The desk is now right in front of the door when you walk in and there is a separate set of doors to go through to get to the shooting bays. Talked to one of the guys working. Fees went up just slightly, it's now $15 for one person for a half hour instead of $10 and $20 for two people. He said the old wires system that the targets ran on have all been replaced with steel tracks. The best news is he said there will soon be full HVAC in the bays. He said all the equipment is there they just have to get it all hooked up. It'll be nice to be able to go there in the dead of summer and not sweat your balls off to put a few rounds down range.
Taking a chick tomorrow to shoot for the first time. I'll post back more info once I actually get to use the place.

There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

33% more is a bit of a jump to me. If it was your favorite beer and it went up 33% you'd be shocked. It is possibly worth it depending on the individual but I am saying 33% is 33%.

I don't mind paying $5 extra bucks for the upgrades they are making. Nothing in the lanes themselves had really changed at all in about 20 years. Maybe actually making improvements will make it so that business is good enough that it doesn't change every couple of years.

He just made this post so we would know he was taking a girl shooting. I am sure she is related to him.

I was thinking backwards and taking $15 down to $10 and even though you are right I still hate you.

Re: Louisville Armory..formerly TG&G
I take girls on dates to the range there, most have never shot.
I just paid for the membership, much cheaper with the amount of times I go plus free ffl. I think you can pick up brass, I dont pick mine up but I was irritated when this fat old.man started taking mine.
I recently joined this forum and thought this was started by the gun range owners...seems like i got the wrong order.

Re: Louisville Armory..formerly TG&G
Had a good time today. They have three bays now: A, B and C. B doesn't seem to be up and running yet. They are actually all connected behind the shooting benches, but have walls separating them down the lanes.
They have the same brass buckets they've always had for cleaning up your lane when you are done so I don't see any reason why you couldn't take your brass home.
Chica did good. Starter her with the ruger .22, then the XDM 9mm and finally the 1911 .45. She actually had pretty good groups at about 20' or so. Needs some work on her grip and stance, but not bad. She had fun, so that's a good thing.

Re: Louisville Armory..formerly TG&G
I always pick up my brass there. I've never hid the fact that I'm doing it and nobody has ever said anything to me about it. It does suck that the price went up, but still a lot cheaper than open range. I just wish the lighting was better down range.
