Toecutter1978 wrote:Ah right. This calls for a KAC race. A no holds barred, bring what ya got. The race will consist of how many grocery bags/car seats fit, cornering at the pickup/drop-off lane at school, most accurate cruise control at 65, and the hardest test of them all. The dreaded miles per gallon.

This will separate the men from the broken downtrodden husbands.
My official entry:

Volvo S60-R
30 bags or alternatively $200 in various Walmart goods
3 car seats or 4 booster seats if two people slam the doors at the same time
AWD so cornering is a cakewalk
I fuel up once a month...twice only when it's hot and using the AC.
A cop stopped me on the street and said "we're looking for a mugger who fits your description" , so I said "okay I'll do it".

I wish I had something that would be competitive in this race. All I have is a car that gets maybe 5 mpg and scrapes the mirror on turns if the bias plys don't just push through the corner.

Pretty sure I cold take it in the green meanie.

8' bed to hold groceries, car seats, and kids a plenty.
4wd and 37's so cornering is not necessary
60 gallon fuel capacity should take me more miles.
Exactly 65 is the top speed making for a perfect cruise control

Good to see someone with an open mind and buy what they like regardless of make. The whole "I only drink coke" even if coke has poop flavor soda because I am so hard core is nonsense.

I think 6 pairs since they get rotated out and become grass cutting shoes. I have far more adidas, nike, reebok, puma, clarks, keens, and bass shoes which get worn more often but nobody asks about those or bring them up. I know it is much funnier and polarizing to just think I wear Jordans and flat bill hats lol so keep me in your head as that guy. Truth is slovo and I actually dress more alike for outdoors and Seymore and I for work.

Have only ever owned fords, except for a few jeep cherokee's because they were cheap.

I try to stay all ford, but have been thinking about a WRX wagon lately.

Mazda RX7 lost oil pressure at nearly 300k miles, 16 years old and ragged the piss out of. Ford Ranger and 2 foxbody's made it to over 250k hard miles and a nice 7.3 Superduty I really regret selling. 1 Chevy, Iroc. Was a HUGE pos! 1 early VW Golf GTI, ruff but not a terrible car. 2 great Hondas. One was handsdown best vehicle purchase I ever made! 6 or 7 4wd Toyotas, AWESOME! Even the 3.0 4Runner! 1 and ONLY Dodge Cummins, FUCK YOU DODGE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never again will I be so stupid! haha I think that's all I've had...

First car '95 S-10 Blazer that my sister wrecked and left in the drive way. Motor mounts were broken, front end all jacked up and needed a major tune up basically all pumps and wires and fuel lines.

Got it running and took it over 300k
Second car '01 Ford Focus hatch got it with 79,000 drove it hard and messed with it a lot. Sold it when it started spewing oil and having electrical problems at 190,000. Guy I sold it to actually fixed it ( well kind of) and it still is on the road
Lastly my current car is a Ford Sport Trac. Got it with 119,000 and have 143,000 now. Doing well so far
