GERSH!!!

I go into wally world for oil and a filter for the jalopy. I saunter past the ammo case, and I thought I was hallucinating!!!

There it was, in all its glory....22 lr.

...it wasn't bulk pack, but still... I got my 3 measly little boxes!

This is the Middletown Wal Mart. I am in there constantly, and have NOT seen a single box of 22lr on the shelf there in over 2 years.

So the guy that gets it out for me and rings me up is a manager. He says someone 'messed up' and put it out tonight, that it isn't supposed to go out until morning. I ask him if the same fat old guys come in every morning to buy it up, and he said "yeah, it's two guys every morning- they're police officers, they buy it all."

So there you have it. I'm guessing it's 2 daywork dinosaurs that go in after roll call every morning. Well guess what? I have no job to go to, so I'm going to start heading in there in the mornings and screw up their scheme.

Just check the app the night before and when it's in stock go in and ask them to find it for you.

Worked for me a few times. But I don't have the patience to go hunting for .22 every morning.

Most of the time I see Walmart putting out new ammo stock around 8 to 9, at least the ones on the south end of town. When I get out of work around 8:30 and swing by they are either in the process of setting it out or have just finished.

My son and I were at Wally World on Hurstbourne the other night for video accessories and checked the case, no 22 lr ammo. One gentleman asked the person at the register for 22 ammo and was rewarded with 3 cci minimag boxes. We asked the register attendant and also purchased some cci minimags. He said he hates for the hoarders to get this ammo so if anyone has the moxey to ask he will sell it to them. They keep it in another case at the register. It would appear that the ammo is there, you just have to be proactive. Make an impression and ask.

You mean for those willing to wait an hour for someone to show up in the sporting goods dept in a walmart

I went to our Walmart yesterday morning around 10 or so and they had the Thunderbolts on the shelf. Older gentleman was standing there waiting for someone to come and get him his allotment. We got to talking about shooting with kids. He was needing some for his grandkids, which he showed me a picture of, so that he could take them out. I patiently waited with him and finally the clerk shows up and takes care of us both. I got 3 boxes and then immediately went to him around the corner and sold them back to him at cost. I am glad to see some starting to stay on the shelves for a while.

FYI.. Brassbadger shows that the Shelbyville Walmart has the 555 ct Winchester in stock.
