Or, why I prefer to live in the sticks.

Forgot to redo my registration on the cars last week so I get to do that this morning. Sitting in front of the county clerk's office right now, checks filled out. Let's see how long it takes. I'm betting five minutes or less.

Off I go, starting the timer.

From the car, back to the car, 2 minutes and 32 seconds to renew two cars. Beat that Jefferson County.

I typically can get mine done in under 10 minutes. What I hate is that you can do it online, but they charge you an extra $5 per vehicle

I hear horror stories from people at work about standing in line for 45 minutes up in Louisville. They must not go to the same one you do Sean.

Never even thought to look online. Do they mail the sticker to you?

That's the way Henry Co is also. I went Fri morning (last business day of the month) and was the only one there. In and out in way under 5min.

Yes they mail the sticker and registration to you about a week after you pay online. I do it this way every year. Spending an extra 5 bucks is well worth saving the time and trip for me.

The clerk in Jeff Co has made vast improvements in the process over the last several years. Unless you go on the last day of the month, wait times aren't unreasonable.

I renew the tags for our company vehicles in Shelby Co and do about 15 tags in about 2 minutes. I drop off a folder with all the registrations, go back to my office, they tell me the total, I get a check, go back and pick up the new regs. Easy as pie.

I think I've been to 2 Thunders, maybe 3 and do my damnedest to stay away from the malls but that's hard with 4 nieces...haha I don't do any of the rest of that shit. I'm happy there are people that like it there, that way I don't have to live there... Not a fan of crowds AT ALL and liking people in general less and less every year...haha

Word I don't care for crowds so much depending on the type though really.

I've only been to Lexington a few times. Only thing I remember really is how seriously fucked up the roads are laid out...

That feeling goes away. Once you get the hang of it it's really easy.

My birthday is in December...I've gone in to renew tags only to find standing room only, and the 'take a number' sign showing 80 people waiting. Needless to say I didn't stay.

I don't think I've spend more than 10 minutes in the clerk's office at a time getting my tags renewed. I usually go to the county clerks office in Jeffersontown

Yeah just go during rush HOURS around that big mall and Ring road you just sit and sit and sit. You will get time to learn it if you have a map ready to study

Hahaha, true. A fifteen minute drive literally becomes a 45+ minute drive at rush hour.

I have stopped going to Louisville at all, I might get there 2 times a year. Florence is where we go when I cant buy it online, it is a couple of miles farther for me, but they got traffic figured out so its still takes 15 minutes less. Louisville on the other hand is in a constant state of screwing traffic up , and even then there long term solution is like 40 years behind the curve. They built the new arena that is a total waste, sure its a nice place but it should be for what you are paying for it. Now they are ruining Oldham county as well, when I moved here crestwood had 2 stop signs, now look at what a cluster it is, more of that Louisville road planning department. The traffic is so bad people be killing each other over it.

Ya the traffic is really my only complaint, that and the liberal agenda.
