ATT U VERSE opinion
ATT U VERSE opinion
Is the wireless broadband any good.
I live in the country and currently have Shelby Broadband which are ok as they go I guess but I am sick of the sporadic coverage at times and the fact that no one there answers the phone or works customer service after normal hours (which is when things seem to go bad and are needed).
I think my contract with them is up now and the ATT UVERSE is my only other option. wondered any pros and cons ...other than Rob works for them.

Re: ATT U VERSE opinion
I have had U-verse for a few years. I don't really have much to complain about other than the cost. Like every other cable provider, the price is constantly going up. That can be blunted a little with a call to Customer Service retention department. The other little complaint is that the sportsman and outdoor channels are only on the highest priced package, which I do not have. We haven't had any real issues with the service being down. The internet speed is fine for what I need. I like that they have wireless boxes. They do charge you for them, I think. You only have to have the network interface and a device that sends a signal to the TV boxes.

The internet connection is good. Not sure what kind of speeds you need Dave, but the speed is adequate as far as I can tell.

I don't know about speeds, mainly do routine internet crap. Sometimes homework for college kids, ebay (pics upload) , gun forums, youtube, stream Netflix or amazon movies/shows.

Re: ATT U VERSE opinion
I've got their 12mb/s service and never have trouble doing anything from streaming video to playing games online. I get up to 15mb/s sometimes when I do a speed test.
Re: ATT U VERSE opinion
That's wired, seems like they only offer to 1.5mb service via wireless (cause there ain't no wired connections out in BFE) so I have to do wireless.ssracer wrote:I've got their 12mb/s service and never have trouble doing anything from streaming video to playing games online. My wireless connection allows plenty of bandwidth to do most anything I need done, even when all the kids are around and trying to hog up all my bandwidth.

My Uverse is run through a phone line to an ATT wireless router. Its 12mb and works great. Is that what your referring to or are you talking 100% wireless? How does the connection come into the house?Dave1965 wrote:That's wired, seems like they only offer to 1.5mb service via wireless (cause there ain't no wired connections out in BFE) so I have to do wireless.ssracer wrote:I've got their 12mb/s service and never have trouble doing anything from streaming video to playing games online. I see. Sorry no experience with that. My parents live kinda far out and i think they may have what you are referring to but i cant be certain. They also have DISH so it may be the same as you.
The service at there house sucks balls. Always dropping in and out. Never a good wireless signal anywhere in the house.

Re: ATT U VERSE opinion
Ive had it for quite a while with no problems. Saw a commercial for a sale going on right now for internet for $29 a month or less price protected for a year. Mine went up after the 1st year. called & mentioned switching to TWC & they sent me to the retention dept. They offered me 50% off for another year, I do that every year

They have a promotion right now where you get it for 24 a month for the first year and get $100 card with that.irishrob wrote:Ive had it for quite a while with no problems. Re: ATT U VERSE opinion
With the network I run in the house satellite internet doesn't work out. We had satellite years ago and it was awful. I thought it improved but have been reading reviews as of late. Apparently is hasn't improved. I opted to take my broadband business back to Comcast. It's unfortunate. Comcast is expensive and the customer service sucks. I do enjoy my 65mb connection though.
