Mower blades are bullet proof

I was shooting a big pile of junk yesterday and one thing I was plinking on was a old mower deck. Shot the blades with various calibers. I was surprised at the results. The .38 wouldn't even dent the blade. My 9mm put a small dent in it. .357 made a slightly larger dent! I was expecting a hole from the .357 because of all the hype about this round going through engine blocks. Mosin Nagant put a lazer like hole in it.

Nice. How thick was that. I'm guessing the mower blades were 1/8th inch? I'd say some steel core mosin will penetrate to infinity and beyond.
