Dumb quotes/myths/misinformation about guns

I'm making this thread to share dumb things you hear people quote or regurgitate that is false or skewed terribly. I'm not talking about online around the world. I'm talking directly quoting your stupid co-worker, friend, cousin, brother-in-law etc...Just someone you spoke to in person that makes you want to bang your head against the wall.

I encounter this often at work. I overhear conversations about gun talk. I decide to join said conversation seeing as I share this interest. Then wham...I take an uppercut to the gut having to listen to BULL so bad that it's painful. I remove myself from the convo after trying to clear them up on that one bit of info they got wrong. So this is the thread where we can come to daily and vent the crap we have had to listen to...somewhere...from someone. After this post I will contribute the most recent quotes that inspired this...and then return daily, or as prescribed to release this frustration. I want you guys to do the same. So post up. I know you all have some good ones.

I had no words for this. It was the first gun convo I was made a part of at work. I knew it was a flash hider but I said nothing because I was new and did not want to rub anyone wrong. I just steer clear of that guy when it comes to gun talk.

However...Sure...lets throw in Gun Shops and their stupid quotes too. We'll keep this gun related for now. If this takes off, I'll do one on cars too.

Older gentleman was there shooting a .38 smith snubbie and pointed out I had an illegal rifle lol. After a short conversation I was still not able to convince him otherwise. Even offered to let him shoot it and he wouldn't, cuz he didn't wanna be the one with it in his hands if the ranger came down. Lmao

I can convert my SKS to take AK clips, myself.

Rose oil is the only oil to use for a muzzleloader , and then the guy gets the ramrod stuck. That one told him , he needed more rose oil.

Crabky it can be anything you want to add. Gun related that you find funny. I like the list you added already. Especially the last one because I can relate to hearing that when I worked on cars. Haha
