I trust Kim Komando. If she says updating is critical, I would do it.

My phone iPhone 5 is still on 6.1, figured I'd let them work the bugs out of 7 before I updated for this very reason

If you have a jailbroken iDevice, as all of my apple devices are jailbroken, You can download the SSL security patch via cydia.

If you arent jailbroken, ignore me.

Haha! Yeah that's true. I was told the reason PC has so many viruses and other crap is no companies use apple for anything serious, so why write something that won't net anything good. I'm just really digging how win8 with office 365 is so much user friendly to do any documents, spreadsheets on than an apple. I've tried using apple pages, rather just use notebook.

Apple is the premier publisher of the best media editing software and hardware in the business. Ask anyone who makes movies, music, edits photography in a serious manner and they will all tell you apple is where it's at. It's second to none in that regard.

As far as everyday sorta stuff, it's about as useful as a windows pc. The only downfall in my mind is the price point. You can get an everyday surfing machine for a fraction of the cost of a apple machine. But, if you need it for what it's power points are, it can't be beat.

Not exactly.

The PC user base is much larger, so it makes a much more lucrative target.

The Mac OS kernel and file system makes for an unfriendly environment for self-replicating code.

Of course, none of this is sufficient for me to switch from PCs.

I guess it just comes down to preference. I watch students here with both systems, for laptops, tablets and mobile devices(phones). There are a bunch for both, but the win8 is growing more. I watched a competition between two guys in an anima club. Both had to make a PowerPoint on their laptops then display it on their tablets and send it to their mobile device for "grading". The guy with win8 was faster, and so much better. It was a nerd fight. Lol

Honestly not sure what that proves.

Many of you guys could use a Windows 3.1 PC and an old version of Lotus Smartsuite and make a quicker and better presentation than I could with either a modern MAC or PC with the newest software.
