just wondering about the fumes...
got a line on a job at a body shop as a 'manager'....working in the office.
The problem is my super-sniffer. I know the few times I've been in a couple bodyshops the paint/bondo fumes and smell were horrible and headache inducing, but it's been a few years since I've been in one.
Are they all pretty much brain cell killing fume factories?

The officd should be seperated from the shop. That being said you should be okay.

I grew up in a body shop....even in the office the fumes will linger...
Basically you get used to it.....personally I like the smell of a body shop.....
That said, you'll either adapt to it.....or not

I've been around it all. We've restored a couple vehicles and made most the furniture in our house. It's said to kill brain cells and they say lots of the toxins you breath in are cancerous (like everything else in the world). When sanding bondo, painting, and heavy grinding I wear a respirator.
As manager you should mostly be in an office outside the shop. I dont think you'd be exposed to much honestly. If you need to talk to someone in the shop you could always call them to your office.

Joe used to work in a body shop and I spent a lot of time in the shop with him when I was in college. It wasn't that bad. Honestly the worst smell was the bondo dust but they had a great ventilation system and the fumes were pretty much nonexistent.
