Info on glock mag generations?
Anyone have any links to some reading or info on the mag generations. Is the number 9 follower the newest for the G22 mag. Are there any issues with the ambi mag release mag bodies? What changes were made in the updated followers?

I know Gens 1 ,2 and 3 will all work with Gen 4's but gen 4's will not work with 1, 2, and 3's.
I have all kinds of Glock mags, some from the same year that are different followers and lips.

My gen4 17rd Glock mags work in my gen3 G34. I think the only real difference is the 1-3 mags aren't capable to use if you move your gen4 guns mag release to lefty. At least the best I can tell from having gen3 and gen4 mags side by side.

I've used gen 4 mags in gen 2 and 3 glocks with no issue.

This. Only lefty setup on 4 make the old mags not usable in it. Just a second cut on the mag body to catch the lefty setup release button.Niceguy wrote:My gen4 17rd Glock mags work in my gen3 G34. Re: Info on glock mag generations?
So a gen 4 mag body with cuts on both sides will work in all glock generations. Right?
Any info on follower numbers.

No info on follower #'s but stick with factory don't by aftermarket. I bought a Arredondo follower for some g22 mags and they were junk.
