I recently started using these ice cube trays. I can fit more in than standing up on parchment paper Image
That’s fantastic. Where did you get those?

Ran a batch of 147gr today. Wound up with 339 after it’s all done. Just over 7lbs of lead.

357 after casting and water quenched. Dropping in water is more for cooling off quicker than adding hardness.

Powder coated flame red. Image
A few thin spots, but they will be far from transonic and leading won’t ( or shouldn’t) be an issue.

Weight post powder coating is a little heavy. Most were right around 148.5gr. Image

I had a couple not work out the fins let me know the mold halves weren’t mated well during that throw. They wer out of round and a mf’er to push through the resizing die. Image

Now to decide on a powder. I have titegroup and cfe pistol. Recently read titegroup isn’t ideal for pc projectiles and cfe burns too slow for heavy 9mm to cycle in an ar9.

$.027= primers ($27/k of s&b)
$.0105=lead (.50/lb from wheel weight lead)
$.0103=powder ($21.95/lb of titegroup)
$.00= brass (pretty much free anywhere)
I can load 147gr for around $0.05 a round.
Of course it takes a lot of effort to get ammunition that cheap, but I have people ask frequently if it’s worth the effort. I think so.
The 147gr loads are for my ar9 exclusively. I don’t shoot it as much as pistols.
115gr 9mm are less than $0.01 each

Just threw them back in the pot to melt them back down.

Data looks solid. If I can find some, I’ll probably pick it up to try. Thanks!

Crazy how quiet 147gr are out of pistols and some rifles suppressed. The 168(?) were crazy quiet even out of rifles, but drop like a shot put ball...haha
I need to build another 9mm pistol since mine was stolen in my break in. I had ridiculous money in it. I don't have a single host for my Octane45 currently. I want to pick up a PC9 carbine also.

Power Pistol is great for PC boolits.
I have some Unique propellant to spare if you wish to try it. A wee bit on the dirty side, but a solid choice.
Bullseye is another great propellant when charge weights are 3-4 grs.

I’ve been running on a stash of factory 147gr for a while. It is stupid how quiet it is.

Dirtiness is probably my biggest issue at this point. Anytime I shoot it at an indoor range, I find myself apologizing for the smoke cloud I created. LOL

Two different batches of brass. Can you tell the difference? LOL
