WTB: looking for a .45 Long Colt six gun
I'm looking to see if anyone has one for sale, or can recommend a good one to look at. Prefer DA, but SA is not out of the question. Would like one stout enough to handle heavy loads, not really interested in light load only cowboy action shooters. Stainless or blued, longer barrels preferred, 5.5" +.
Answer here or shoot me a PM.

I love my SA Ruger Blackhawk (4 5/8's or something like that) in .45LC. Never shot anything but factory loads out if it though.

If I wanted to shoot really heavy .45 Colt loads I'd probably look at a .454 Super Redhawk. I can't tell you where to look for one, unfortunately. Most I see seem to be in .44 Magnum.
Good luck with your search. The .45 Colt is a *great* cartridge.

Taurus made the Raging bull in 454. My Dad has one I haveshot 45 LC through. May save you a couple bucks?

Re: WTB: looking for a .45 Long Colt six gun
I would consider it, but Taurus is not one of my favorite revolvers. The timing issues I have encountered in nearly every example I have seen make me leery. I also have to question their materials, they use MIM parts far too often for my comfort, especially with heavy loads. If I found one in good shape for the right price, I may risk it.
The SRH is a good suggestion, though I have never been an SRH fan. I have 2 .44 Mag Rugers, a SBH 10.5" SS & a 7 5/8" SS first gen Redhawk, both have proved themselves many times over the years. While the Bisleys and Vaqueros have a good rep, the shape of the grip and the lack of proper sights concern me.
The Uberti six guns seem to be decent arms, but vastly overpriced. For some reason, they seem to think they all wear the rampant Colt stamp. Some examples I've seen appeared to be well made, some, not so much.
Thanks for the replies, thus far! Keep them coming, especially if anyone has a specific piece they know to be for sale. Eventually, I'd like to get a good six gun and pair it with a matching caliber lever gun or revolving cylinder rifle (cartridge, not BP).
