Well hoping this and a lot of other good legislation passes.
On that note, where is the best place in Kentucky to purchase a supressor, or two, or three?

This is why I put a hold on buying anything soon.
Why wait a year for a stamp if you really won't need one in a few months?

And even if it takes a year to pass, you still haven't really lost any time..lolToddstang wrote:This is why I put a hold on buying anything soon.

I had great service through Gameliel Shooting Supply in Gameliel, KY. Purchased it online. Sent them a copy of my trust. They filed my paperwork with the BATFE. Then they sent me a 4473 once the stamp was approved and now my suppressor is in transit to me. Should have it today!richief wrote:https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-con ... l/367?r=21

I'd LOVE to see it happen, but I'm sure not holding my breath. I don't see anyway in hell that the gov is going to give up all these $200 a pop fees for doing very little...But I reeaaally hope I'm wrong.

I'm afraid the boom in silencer popularity may make them harder to get off the NFA list than say 10 years ago.

I think this has a good chance of passing. If this is the first big thing the NRA is pushing after all the Republican victories that's a good sign.

Now why not just make your own and not worry about those pesky form 4 cans. Form 1 those things.

Form 1's are running just as long as form 4's nowadays. Lots of form 1's were filed right before 41p

H.R. 367 Hearing Protection Act 2017 (HPA)
They are running about 7 months. People getting their form 1 cans approved now filed back in June. They can't be efiled anymore which expedited the process and there was a big rush to keep from trying to get fingerprints and photos for everyone on your trust.Toecutter1978 wrote:Really? Wow! Re: H.R. 367 Hearing Protection Act 2017 (HPA)
I have been making notes and drawings for some cans I want to build for a while, now. I can't do anything with them until after the new legislation passes, but I can dream.
I did file a form 1 last year and build a 9mm can that cost me $30 for materials, and it works great. It's actually smaller and quieter than my Bowers 9mm can that I bought to use on my M11/9!

Re: H.R. 367 Hearing Protection Act 2017 (HPA)
I'd love to see a picture of this. I have substantially more in my 9mm form 1 can. I'm waiting on some moly resin to come and it should be done.Wyldman wrote:I have been making notes and drawings for some cans I want to build for a while, now. Re: H.R. 367 Hearing Protection Act 2017 (HPA)
Wouldn't surprise me one bit if it cost almost as much or perhaps even more for them to process the paperwork than the fee knowing the govt.Niceguy wrote:I'd LOVE to see it happen, but I'm sure not holding my breath. There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.
