One letter, from one little agent, that thinks his idea is golden. Doesn't change my opinion on it.

It will eventually be a supreme court ruling(and needs to be, because I would love to be the defense attorney to ask them all the relevant questions on how an item magically changes into a different item simply by where it is in relation to a shoulder).

People need to ignore this and tell them to fuck off.

It's not worth the headache having it. I'll just sell it and move on. I only lost a twenty dollar bill on it.

The more I think about this, the more squirrelly it becomes.

*If* I shoulder a pistol with a Sig brace, I've made a SBR. But what happens when I take it from my shoulder?

Does it become a pistol again, or is the weapon to which it is attached forever an NFA-regulated item?

There is no way in hell this would hold up in court. We've tiptoed around these guys for far too long, and we're our own worst enemy. We love chiding the ignorant who ask about attaching a vertical foregrip to the light rail on a pistol or those who don't weld their flash hider to a 14.5" barrel to our satisfaction. We use the extremely rare examples of people who were imprisoned for violations of ATF regs to justify our fear of "a trip to Club Fed"--and I count myself among that number, because I've demonstrated my "cleverness" on more than one occasion.

No more. Fuck 'em.

I think that's the whole point of government overreach. Not criticizing your unwillingness to take personal risk, just pointing out that they've won.

We collectively live in fear at times of our overlords and it makes me sick. The resulting carnage of a real resistance to fascism is sickening as well.

Unless you are out at a public range doing stupid crap, then you will have nothing to worry about.

I don't think the ATF will make a stop at your house "Just because".

I can not see how they can approve the brace for a pistol, with the comment use does not change its pistol status, and then after thousands are sold because people added them to there pistol buffer tube that they often shouldered anyhow, reverse their ruling and call it A VIOLATION.

Not at all.

Just saying you are more likely to get picked on by the "Barney Fife" ATF wanna be's at these places.
Sad but true.

Presumably because--despite rumors and the ATF's opinion to the contrary--placing a vertical foregrip on a pistol isn't illegal and doesn't transform it into an AOW.

I am aware of only two instances where the ATF tried to prosecute for this "offense," and they failed to make it stick both times--because in both cases the federal judge determined that a pistol with a vertical foregrip is still a pistol.

Well may so but it is a AOW by BATF standards, and a judge decides case on a individual baise.
I think it is time I withdraw from this discussion as it no longer holds anymore meaning to me.

And as a FFL what I don't know I do not need to report.
