I'm late to the party today!

I'd just like to say I agree with Frailer about bitching at the ballot box, but I think it has to be the Primary for that to matter. Hell you may even get a 3rd party in there. But voting a write in during the general election is doing no good. You have to pick a side, knowing that you won't like everything about the candidate.
I would have voted against Mitch in the primary but because I am registered independent, I could not vote for Bevin. Gonna have to change my registration. All the primary races that were hotly contested in the past few years is what has gotten us to the point where we have a Rand Paul in office (not that I like him 100% either) it wasn't all the turd ferguson votes in the general election that has put so many tea party leaning members in office.

Watched the debate last night and IMHO it was a photo finish with Grimes winning by a tiny tiny hair. It's is sad they will only debate once whoever. While coal and it worth to Kentucky is an issue it seemed they spent way to much time discussing it and not enough on other thing like farming, guns, and so on and so forth. While Alison is a fine looking woman she is not really my type. I like them blond and blue with a healthy set up front.

What I really got from that debate was from Grimes was a youthful desire to do something even if it's wrong, but do something. What I got from Mitch was the standard condisending arrogrance associated those who have been considered a duke , baron, or prince in thier own mind for an extended period of time.

Grimes' father is Jerry Lundergan, a long-time KY legislator and one-time head of the KY Democrat party. He was forced to resign both positions when he was convicted of an ethics violation. His catering company inappropriately received a lucrative government contract for an official event, which he failed to disclose. He escaped a prison sentence when a mistrial was ruled in his proceedings.

James Sullivan, a childhood friend of Lundergan, was later convicted of jury tampering in the trial.

It is perhaps no surprise that the Lundergan family have very close ties to former President Bill Clinton. Lundergan's company even catered Chelsea Clinton's wedding. Lundergan was also Kentucky Chair for Hillary's campaign for President in 2008.

Democrats may have no other option than a neophyte scion of a political dynasty with a checkered heritage. Such is the state of politics in the Bluegrass State. If Grimes were to run, Clinton would no doubt make appearances on her behalf, but haven't we reached the sell-by date on corrupt Southern political dynasties?

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will campaign for Alison Lundergan Grimes Wednesday, October 15.

The evening kicks off with a fundraiser at 21C where tickets cost up to $2,600. Then they will make their way to the Kentucky International Convention Center for a rally that is free and open to the public.
