Virginia teacher arrested after allegedly firing blank shots from gun at students

A Virginia teacher was arrested Wednesday after allegedly lining up his students during class and firing multiple blank shots from a gun at them.

Manuael Ernest Dillow, 60, of Kingsport, Va., was charged with 12 felony counts of brandishing a firearm on school property, the Kingsport Times News reported.

The charges are Class 6 felonies, according to the newspaper, and each count is punishable by up to five years in jail and a $2,500 fine.

The incident reportedly occurred April 4 at William H. Neff Center, a vocational school in Abingdon. Dillow allegedly lined up the 12 students during a welding class.

"He then pulled a 'blank firing handgun,' black in color, from the back waistband of his pants and discharged the weapon between four and ten shots in the direction of the line of the students," police said in a press release.

The incident frightened the students, but none were physically injured, the newspaper reported.

Sweet, its hard enough to argue to keep what's left of our gun rights. With people like this they will be gone in a blink of an eye.

If bans work so well can we ban morons from breathing and reproducing?

Lucky the kids can't carry. wonder if he would have thought it was a good idea if one of them defended them self and put him down?

Exactly what I was thinking.

Can you imagine the headlines on that?
There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

Although very idiotic and stupid, a few questions come into play;

Was it an actual pistol or a blank on start pistol? if it was an actual firearm then yes stupid and charges are warranted, if it wasnt and was a starter pistol, then the charges are wrong and every gym, track, swimming and multiple other coaches, teachers, and trainers would need the same charges because 98% of all schools have them.

How long was he a teacher? At age 60 he had to be close to retirement age or started late, with this act of foolishness, he lost his retirement, pensions ect. good way to work for 20+ years (if he started after college then 35+) and do something stupid, get arrested, do a few months to a year or 2 in jail, get out and have $0 for all the time and effort and the years he spent thousands on in college to get the job.

Maybe he had flashbacks from vietnam or has a brain tumor, they need to look at his past and see if he did combat service, history of violant outbreaks or if he was a good guy and then out of the blue snapped.

I am not saying what he did was right but just wondering the whole non media edited story...
