More US sanctions, Kalashnikov on the blacklist

Post by WLJ » Wed Jul 16, 2014 7:06 pm

US widens sanctions against Russia and includes Gazprombank, Rosneft and Kalashnikov on the blacklistКопирано от standartnews.com

There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

Here's the full text. The gist is, if you bought yours before today, you can still resell it. But you can't buy any new ones. If you're currently paying for your AK on layaway, you need to contact Treasury for further info.
375. If I have Kalashnikov products in my inventory, can I sell them?

If a U.S. person has an inventory of Kalashnikov Concern products in which Kalashnikov Concern has an interest (for example, the products are not fully paid for or are being sold on consignment), we advise that U.S. person to contact OFAC for further guidance on handling of the inventory. [7-16-2014]
374. If I own a Kalashnikov product, is that product blocked by sanctions? Am I able to resell a Kalashnikov product at a gun show or other secondary market?

If a U.S. person is in possession of a Kalashnikov Concern product that was bought and fully paid for prior to the date of designation (i.e., no payment remains due to Kalashnikov Concern), then that product is not blocked and OFAC sanctions would not prohibit the U.S. person from keeping or selling the product in the secondary market, so long as Kalashnikov Concern has no interest in the transaction. New transactions by U.S. persons with Kalashnikov Concern are prohibited, however, and any property in which Kalashnikov Concern has an interest is blocked pursuant to OFAC’s designation of Kalashnikov Concern on July 16, 2014. If a U.S. person has an inventory of Kalashnikov Concern products in which Kalashnikov Concern has an interest (for example, the products are not fully paid for or are being sold on consignment), we advise that U.S. person to contact OFAC for further guidance on handling of the inventory. Saigas, Verprs.
Besides, banning a chunk of what's imported will drive the others up in price.
Can ammo be far behind?

More US sanctions, Kalashnikov on the blacklist

Post by jackalo626 » Thu Jul 17, 2014 12:00 am

Plenty of other AK's guys. This panic buying stuff is ridiculous. Banning guns at all from import is what you know your govt will do and has always wanted to do/ they just need to look like they have a reason. People if you want something then get it and quit playing around for so long before you try. Plenty of others to buy. If they said they were banning import of rye bread tonight then I can guarantee you that the stores would be bare in the morning. It only has to be forbidden fruit for it to sell out. If you want guns then you should already have them if you belong to a gun forum and if not then you better get them now and keep that vote you have now warm for the election.
