Dutch ban on dynamic competition shooting???

Post by Ulwembu » Wed Mar 28, 2012 4:13 am

Well, yesterday some bad news was brought to us. It looks like that from the 12th of May a law will come into effect that will ban all dynamic competition shooting. We'll be able to keep shooting till the end of the year but than, that's it. Knowing that we have our firearms for the sole purpose of competition shooting, and that a lot of dynamic shooters have firearms especially build for competition shooting, this will effect a pretty big part of the firearm owners in the Netherlands.

By our law, if our firearms do not fit in a certain competition, you can not own that firearm. In my case, this would mean that my Norinco UZI and my 5.7x28 upper for my AR are suddenly worthless. Including everything I have for these two items (mags, rigs, parts) that means that by our standards, over USD 4000.00 of stuff that will be unsellable within 6 weeks...

I'm pretty gutted over this. For me the dynamic shooting sport is everything. Anybody can offer me a green card?

That is just horrible.

When these laws happen do you not have any more notice than that?

Man that's awful.

This is Holland... The EU country that wants to be best in class. So, no, this is all the time you get... It hasn't been decided yet but chances are big that it will be, knowing our politics.

It sounds like they've been planning for a while. Just one step closer to a complete gun ban in my opinion.

Ulwembu, that's horrible... Another reason to move to Kentucky though. :llama:

Wonder if we can auction Ulwembu off in exchange for a green card. Everyone post up your eligible friends, sisters, daughters, etc.

Learn to speak Spanish and cross the southern border into the US, soon after you'll have more rights and legal protection than I do.

Hmmm... I don't think the Mexico option will work...

That's me on the left in the picture... almost 6'6" tall, blond, ponytail and if you're talking white people, well, that's me. I'm pretty sure my skin couldn't be any whiter then it is already...

Dye your hair and some time in the Mexican sun will fix that right up, and at 6'6" you could be one of crazy Mexican wrestlers.

The "joke" is getting bigger... I just read the proposal for the government and they're going to push a full blown assault weapons ban through... Man it's great to have someone come up for your rights... NOT!!!! We can keep the guns but they won't be transferable anymore... you would only be able to sell them to a gundealer (who wouldn't pay much) or a foreign shooter... I won't put all the bad words I'm thinking off now on the forum as I would risk a perm ban...

Sorry to hear about that. Maybe you can find a loophole and keep them in another country until things change or maybe move?

I know what I would do if the government came for my guns. Is there anything in your constitution about firearms rights? Any act of defiance by gun owners will only further support of an outright ban, but we all know an outright ban is what is in the works so why not defy them now anyways.

Nope, overhere it's not our right. Guns are forbidden here, unless you get a permit.

take notes, guys...it will be here before you know it!
O'Mamma knows what's best for you- he has been salivating over getting in on that International Treaty since he took office. The main sticking point is that the treaty requires a tallied number of 'small arms' owned by private citizens.
-And what better way to add up the number of guns owned by citizens than to have them be 'registered'?
Once they're registered it makes it sooooo much easier to know what to go after.

Good thing I sold all my firearms.

Who needs them with the government here to protect us. I mean, we are in a new age now, not like back when the people who founded this country needed them. Right?
