Which ACOG?? or RMR
Which ACOG?? or RMR
Thinking about buying one of these for myself for Christmas. Yeah I do that, no one else seems to remember what I ask for.
So many different models, so many different reticles. Never had these in the service when I was in long ago.
Any recommendations. Needs to stay under the 1500 dollar mark though.
Also thought about outfitting a pistol with an RMR just for fun, anyone have thoughts on those?

Thanks!

Re: Which ACOG?? or RMR
I put a J Point red dot sight on a mount for the rear sight dovetail. I have shot and deer hunted with that Glock model 20. I like the option.

TA 31.
Something with the chevron reticle. I like the red. Donut reticle seems to be unpopular. I like the 4x magnification but some people have issues with lining up with certain models. Try before you buy if you can
I have a TA31RCO just sitting in the safe on a Larue rco mount just begging for a rifle to put it on. You are welcome to borrow it to try it out of you want.

Here it comes... wait for it... get ready...
What are you planning to do with it? What ranges do you expect to shoot? What are you putting it on? What ammo do you plan to use? All of this matters.

Wait for answers...
put on top of rifle to shoot with , most likely 5.56 AR or Scar16, 100-200 yds is all I can see, regular ball ammo 55-62 gr
RMR, I have no idea, probably glock is easiest since they are pretty disposable.

Re: Which ACOG?? or RMR
Sorry, I should have mentioned I meant for the ACOG specifically. The RMR is easy; I'd recommend the adjustable LED model. I forget which model number that is... RMR06? From what I've read the others are never quite where you want them in terms of brightness.
As for the ACOG, test drive Mike's. That's a golden opportunity. Many people complain about unforgiving and very short eye relief on the TA31. I haven't had an especially large issue with that, but the TA11 is supposed to have much a more forgiving eye relief range.
This is set up specifically for M193 out of a 16" barrel, which sounds like a good set up for what you're after. https://www.trijicon.com/na_en/products ... 1-D-100288
Unless of course your AR has a 14.5" barrel... https://www.trijicon.com/na_en/products ... RCO-M150CP

He's right, you know...son of liberty wrote:Vorex Razor HD gen 2 MRAD
The only thing I wish was different about the Razor HD II is that the 1-6x isn't an FFP scope.

I don't know what that FFP means but I have lots of Razor stuff, looking for something that is different and looks differentWhootsinator wrote:He's right, you know...son of liberty wrote:Vorex Razor HD gen 2 MRAD

Trijicon is what I settled on and name recognition is part of the issue. I like Vortex, just wanting a Trijicon for some reason.
It will obviously be a range gun as I shoot my stuff and don't plan on slogging thru the woods or urban terrain anytime with it.
