I've been using Mueller APV & APT scopes on several of my rifles for a very long time. I find the glass to be of very good quality and the adjustment mechanisms precise and robust. One of the APT scopes is on my .308 bolt gun and has fired 1000's of rounds and always been spot on. I have also used them on my long range .22 rifles with great success.

You could spend more money on some other scopes and get nowhere near the performance. Are there better scopes available? Yes, but not for this kind of money.

Love my APV for the money. Also had their 8-32x44 target scope on my Stevens 200 .223 & really liked it.

What type of receiver mount does the Stevens rifle have on it? Dove tail slots, picatinney rail, other rail?

These have worked well on a couple of my rifles: http://www.ebay.com/itm/UTG-1-Inch-QD-R ... 2579dcbbf3

Those are 1" rings, and I don't remember if that scope is a 1" tube or a 30mm tube.
