Who has some? What do you have? Anyone do a DIY version of any weapon mounted optic? I want to buy some parts and do a budget build when I EAS.

I have a ATN Gen II+ Aries, and a milsurp PVS 14, true Gen III. What did you want to know? ArfCom has a dedicated night vision forum that I used to learn quite a bit from, but it takes quite a bit of data mining to seperate opinion/conjecture from fact.

I don't think most people here have them but I could be wrong. My lone investment into the world is a Russian made monocular. I looked seriously at the PVS 14 at a couple gun shows but I couldn't justify the usage versus cost issue. I know another boardie who looked at some options as well but not sure if he ever took the plunge.

Ideally I would love to pick one up for some hog hunting trips down south this fall and winter. I did find a budget DIY NV setup for less than $150 I am gonna look into when I am back home.

"Night Vision", "budget", and "performance" do not go together. Pick two. Night vision isn't completely necessary to hunting hogs at night. If you have questions about what you think you want or need that you can't find answers to, the guys at TNVC are incredibly helpful.

Looks like a possibility for doing it on the cheap, and honestly that is about all my monocular would show. Doing it according to the tutorial also lets you do whatever experimentation or what fits your need for the scope as well. And 100 bucks is really nothing for a bunch of fun and experimentation.
