Rudius 1911 80 Percent Frame Deposit

To complete this frame all that need be done are the slide rails, barrel seat and the two rear pin holes. THERE IS NO FFL REQUIRED PER BATFE SPECIFICATIONS. This is not a firearm until you decide to make it one. This is the perfect project for an at-home build. THESE FRAMES ARE AVAILABLE RIGHT NOW FOR PREORDER ONLY! EXPECTED RELEASE OF THE RUDIUS IS SCHEDULED FOR 3-6 MONTHS. By placing a preorder you are guaranteeing that you will have your hands wrapped around one of the first one thousand Rudius frames that are being made. The MSRP for the Rudius is 249.95 but for those watering at the mouth that want to preorder it is only 99.95 to reserve your Rudius and 99.95 at time of delivery. Only free men need apply! 80% for the 3%

Regularly:
$249.95
On Sale:
$99.95

For those of you who are looking for a cheap 1911 to beat up on!

Hopefully one of the ffl's on here will chime in on this, I understand this is not a licensed pistol BUT. If someone was interested in ordering one how much would it roughly cost to complete the task list above and have it serialized etc?

If you had the extra parts laying around, I believe this is just a frame with a grip. No barrel, guts, etc. I may be wrong but I was merely posting this for the information on how much it would cost to have the frame Confirmed by the BATF and get a serial number.

"Q: Is it legal to assemble a firearm from commercially available parts kits that can be purchased via internet or shotgun news?

For your information, per provisions of the Gun Control Act (GCA) of 1968, 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44, an unlicensed individual may make a “firearm” as defined in the GCA for his own personal use, but not for sale or distribution."

It is an incomplete frame. More milling is necessary to make is usable.

Just my opinion, but building your own is not "cheap". Sure you can do it yourself, but at the risk of making a mistake you can't undo (especially on the frame). If it includes final machining that you need to pay someone else to do, you aren't into an economy pistol any more, you're having one built for you. I've built a couple 1911s on "80%" frames, luckily the only work I had to do to the frame was fine tuning the frame rails and trigger channel. Anything beyond that would have been too much for me. Some of you have seen my pistol work haha.

Not trying to sound discouraging, it is a fun way to learn the ins and outs of the 1911 (and sometimes very frustrating). Just saying there are cheaper/easier routes if you gotta have one.

Kind of my thoughts when I first saw this. I was merely asking because I was curious as what all it would take to get the frame a serial number.

And if you have somebody else do it

Manufactor license is needed
And 11% federal excise tax is due on finished product

So, you don't need to serial number a firearm that you make yourself unless you want to sell it eventually, correct?

You can not make a firearm to sell unless you are licensed to do so

What if you make it to keep originally but then years down the road, you decide that you want to sell it? Are you not allowed to ever sell that gun that you made yourself?

you can also buy 80% AR lowers

you can get a set of RAW AR upper and lower forgings for like $50. I've thought about doing that for paper weights...lol
