The 1911 is the M1 Garand of handguns. The classic and powerful handgun is an example of what a pistol should be. This classic .45 automatic is a perfect balance between function and form. It’s complicated, but not needlessly so, like all Browning designs, it’s very elegant. From its brilliant trigger design to the unobtrusive grip safety. Every shortcoming of John Moses Browning’s magnum opus can be overcome with enough cash. The only real issue with the 1911 is price. This is doubly true when it comes to concealed carry appropriate models. When I heard that Century Arms was importing the Scout, a commander-sized 1911 from Shooters Arms that retails for less than $500, I had to see it with my own two eyes.

This guy got paid to suck Shooters Arms dick. Or more likely he's hoping they will if they see his review. He gives glowing praise about how revolutionary SAM is for making a pistol that fires every time you pull the trigger. Maybe if I sent him an MK Custom he'd put me on the map!

The internet has ruined the world by making it easy to post video reviews done in your back yard. Put on mechanix gloves and a hat with an AR manufacturer logo and you are a youtube guru (at least to your friends).

If Hickok 45 did a review of it I'd give it more credibility.

Sorry, I was drunk last night. I'm sure they are fine firearms, and I'm sure he is a fine and impartial firearms reviewer.

Just an observation from my experience owning the RIA 1911 a year or two ago....

My own personal opinion: If you can't afford a quality 1911, you probably can't afford to shoot one enough to make it a reliable EDC weapon. If 200 bucks means the difference for you, get a 9mm. At least you can afford to stay in practice.

Any opinion on the citadel 1911 9mm. Local rural king has them on sale for under 350 thought about picking one up.

I have a Citadel and it eats any junk ammo I feed it and it's pretty accurate.
