I had never heard of Cabot Guns until today. Pretty expensive stuff, and if you spend too much time on their site you may get the impression I did: they are pretty full of themselves. Not marketing towards everyman, but maybe they have enough Richie Rich types lined up to smoke cigars and brag about their custom pistols.

I can shoot all of my pistols with either hand and they don't even come close to adding up to $16,000 together...haha

As a lefty I shoot just fine right handed.
There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

I don't get the need for a "lefty" pistol. If it has ambi controls what diff does it make which side it ejects to

Most handguns eject the brass back and to the right with some doing it more back than right, and shooting those left handed increases the chance of getting an empty in the face

Uh, those prices for such tight tolerances, I would trust a ratty old Colt, RIA, or Remington before that sidearm. If somebody wants to buy it though, who am I to judge.

Most 1911s that have ambi controls only have an ambi thumb safety. These are also left hander friendly for mag release and slide stop. Just sayin.

I agree with most, I can shoot my regular pistol just fine with my south paw. Just thought it was interesting that someone out there was having a go at making them again.

Nothing wrong with that! I was pretty excited when Ruger announced they were making a 1911 pattern pistol a few years ago, but I've never dropped the hammer on one. If I could find a blued one though....

Yeah. Blued would be sweet. Nothing against the stainless, but it's too flashy for me. Give me something in a dark parkerizing.

The flat finish that Ruger uses is quite attractive, w/o being flashy. It very much resembles the finish on my AMT Hardballer, which has been my only other 1911 for the last 35 years (I still have it).

I am a lefty, I fond no use for left handed controls (other than thumb safety if equipped) on any firearm I have used. hell i dont even but ambi safety or bolt release on my AR's. I use my middle finger to reach back and drop mags on my pistols and trigger finger to release slide or slingshot them.

On ar I use my palm to release the bolt if needed and I use my offhand to drop mags. My grip on most AR pattern rifles has that hand by the release anyway.

So we basically all agree that we can get by without a "tailored" pistol? We pick it up, we adapt to whatever it is, whatever controls it has. I'm a lefty too actually. But I typically shoot right handed.

As I said before, I thought it was kinda interesting that someone was trying out the left handed niche 1911 again. But way too expensive.
