Used Glock prices?

Post by gundoc » Thu Oct 18, 2012 1:33 pm

Am I the only one on KAC that thinks that $450 is too much for a standard 9mm frame G19/23 or 17/22. I have been looking for another G17 or 19 for my daughter and started watching the site for one. All used have been in the $450 range and I just thought that was a bit much. All that I looked at had the magic words of Firm behind the price. So I decided that I was going out to buy one today at a dealer and I was not going to pay more than $400. before tax. I am not going to say what shop had it but I bought an RTF G17 for $400 OTD no tax at the third stop I made. So what is causing this price on this and other gun forums? Am I just good at finding deals or is $50 below normal retail too much for a used Glock?

My local shop had a G17 for 375 the other day. Came with two mags. Lasted about 2 days. He has a model 36 in the box with night sights for 495 right now (.45's and night sights add more to the price of course). Other forums, FB and KYclassified users are just trying to make bucks with them.

Yes, that is too much. Seems all used gun prices are overpriced. $50 or so and you could buy most new.

I believe the current blue label program cost for those at Classic Firearms (a glock distributor for the blue label program) is 398 plus tax. If you go to one of the dealers participating in blue label program, like Sherwoods or KYGUNCO, I believe the price is 424 plus tax for a new gun.

$450 isn't the new price or anything, it has been that way for a while and is the going rate. Blue label buying is kind of like employee pricing for cars. Just because somebody in the industry gets it cheaper doesn't mean the price for everybody should reflect the same.

The gun is worth what a buyer is willing to pay. I just agreed to buy a Glock, for more than what you guys listed as reasonable, but I don't think I got a bad deal and I had my reasons for entering into that deal.

I have seen guns sell for way higher than I would have ever paid for them, but maybe that is just because it was something I did not want as much as someone else. Worth is relative, and there is plenty of stuff out there for sale.

I agree....as long as it has night sights...not stock sights.
