Single stack M&P coming out.

Post by WLJ » Tue Apr 10, 2012 10:15 am

There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

You learn after a while that the two hardest things to conceal on a handgun are it's width and grip length. Looks like being a single stack help takes care of the width and the compacts already had a short(er) grip.

When I run the numbers it really doesn't hardly seem any smaller than my M&P 9c. Gotta see one in person.

People have been begging glock for a single stack g26 for years...kahr, walther, keltec, taurus, etc have all made this style to kind of fill that niche, now sw too. good idea i think, but i like the mag and holster versatility the g26 offers more than a .19" width reduction...the pm9 i used to have felt waay thinner than the g26, but i didnt keep it fwiw

Might pick one up. Depends on how it compares to a PF9 or similar. Maybe I'll figure up a comparison soon. I think I'd go with 40 if it were an option. .357 sig would be a beast too.

I tried to get a good photo for a size comparison and could not get a good shot. So the next thing I thought of was to trace it. Here is the size comparison, PF9 difference is in yellow. Width is .07 or 1/16 inches different. Not a very large difference, I think the Shield 9 will carry just as well.

Hey Nemo how does it feel on width vs the PF9? Looks a little on the thick side from specs but haven't seen one in person yet.

.88 vs .95, just over 1/16th wider. Not much at all.

I gotta get together with you real soon and try it Nemo. If it's as awesome as I hope I just might sell my 9c and get one.

Just came from 111
They had 4 more come in this morning, these plus the one they already had in stock all sold before I got there at 2:00. In other words, they are out.

Looks a LOT better without the extended mag. I stopped in Shooters to check them out and didn't even want a closer look with that extended mag. Nemo's picture makes it look a lot better.

If they box it like they did my M&P Compact 357sig, it came with two, a flush mag and one with a pinky rest.
