Identify This Rifle!

I saw this in a Green Beret tribute on teh interwebz. Me thinks it's an STG-44, but I'm not too sharp on post-war German guns, so it might be an early H&K.

STG 43 or 44 I would say.

It's there. Like most weapons in the AK family, the Stg44's front sight is near to the muzzle and not attached to the gas block.
