SKS to AK conversion

Post by tannerss09 » Fri Nov 23, 2012 10:49 pm

I was wondering if anyone could point me into the direction of converting my recently acquired SKS so that it can use AK magazines. Or, if I should do it at all? Any options that you know of? Thanks.

SKS to AK conversion

The SKS is a great rifle. The conversion even if possible wouldn't be worth it in my opinion. There's extended tacti cool SKS mags and drums available no conversion required. You would likely be better off to sell the SKS and buy an AK if its what you have your heart set on.

The SKS has become a collecters rifle. These guns could be bought for $75 each in the 80's and those were the Russian models that bring $450+ today.
I would shoot it as is and make no modifications to it at all.
Keep that Tapco crap off!

Thanks all. I guess I'll just keep it the way it is. I would just like a way to reload it faster.
