Re: Ruger’s new PC Carbine
I'm in complete shock they went with Glock mags and not some weird proprietary one.
There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

Re: Ruger’s new PC Carbine
me too. I was ready to read this article and see that it only takes ruger mags. Glad they took that extra step. Now make it in 10mm with glock mags and you’ve got something.WLJ wrote:I'm in complete shock they went with Glock mags and not some weird proprietary one.

Re: Ruger’s new PC Carbine
1/2-28 is pretty common for 9mm barrels...just about all aftermarket barrels use that

Someone will put on a 5.56 flash hider and blame Ruger.
$649 msrp is too steep for me to find out if I like it.
$480 at Whittakers.

Re: Ruger’s new PC Carbine
People have been saying that forever...have yet to hear of someone putting a 556 anything on a 9mm. Not saying it will never happen...idiots are everywhere, but that’s a very common thread pitch for 9mm and has been for years.

I like it, but kinda pricey for what it is. IMHO

Not really IMHO, at $450-$500 it's a little bit more than a S2K and less than a CX4 and Scorpionbigelowe wrote:I like it, but kinda pricey for what it is. IMHO
I think we've been spoiled by the beyond flooded AR market prices lately

Re: Ruger’s new PC Carbine
Maybe I overlooked something, but Ruger's website lists 2 different models, one with a 10 round capacity, the other a 17 round capacity. I would think there's no difference in the weapon itself, and capacity is dependent on which mag you put in it. I just don't see the point of having two different models.

Non-free state (CA, NY, MA etc..) models. They can't ship the models with the higher cap mags in the box to those states. If you look on KyGunCo and Bud's websites for example they list separate models for those states.RedRocker wrote:Maybe I overlooked something, but Ruger's website lists 2 different models, one with a 10 round capacity, the other a 17 round capacity. Well guess what, they went for both. I have to give them credit there.ssracer wrote:me too. I was ready to read this article and see that it only takes ruger mags. Glad they took that extra step. Bunch of detail photos and info at the linkYes, that’s right, this gun from Ruger comes with a magazine well adapter for GLOCK magazines. Installed from the factory, though, is the insert for the more obvious choice: Ruger magazines. SR series and Security-9 mags will work, and a 17-round SR9 magazine is included with the PC Carbine (or a 10-round mag with a non-threaded muzzle for restricted states).

Re: Ruger’s new PC Carbine
They should think about a chassis that will make it more like a PDW or assault rifle. If they had introduced it as a PDW with "pistol" barrels avalible and this ugly 10/22 look for neutered states I think it would have generated more buzz.
Ruger is coming around, they are doing a whole lot better then any Remington owned company, but have a long way to go to get free of bill rugers legacy

Aftermarket will probably step up to plate to make that happen.son of liberty wrote:They should think about a chassis that will make it more like a PDW or assault rifle. Re: Ruger’s new PC Carbine
I know this is an older post, but gonna add on to it anyways.
Ruger just release a 40S&W version of this as well. I am hoping this leads its way into the 10mm and 45acp versions.
