Check out this Mosin

Post by KYgundude » Tue Jan 01, 2013 1:10 pm

This is from the Mosins, Mausers and Milsurps Facebook group. It's some kit but more info not yet provided. Interesting. Not sure I'd want to do it but interesting.

Is this kind of like one of those TV show home "remodels" where they knock down 95% of the house and still try to pass it off as a remodel?

In other words, can that thing even still be called a Mosin?
There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

Looks like only the action is still Mosin. Maybe they even changed the caliber by changing the barrel and converting the bolt face?

Accurate ammo is not cheap ammo , shoot 4 MOA ammo out of a .5 MOA rifle and you still have a 4 MOA group.

It may be just about the fun of modding a 80 year old rifle.

Not easy doesn't mean impossible but you're probably right.

Ever tried ??
Most M-N barrels you cut old barrel off and clean up the threads with a wire wheel bottle brush in a air grinder.

That is if your custom made action wrench actually works.

I have changed out three, one had to rebuild receiver with bondo and paint it

I know :llama:
