Good range toy if you like a lot of noise.
There are criminals among us who are both homicidal and incorrigible. Their parents took a shot at civilizing them and failed. Their school teachers took a shot at them and failed. The odds are overwhelming that government welfare programs and penal institutions took a shot at them and failed. If it ever becomes your turn to take a shot at them, don’t fail.

Draco is better quality, these are good pistols but no chrome line barrel.

Serious?
My thoughts on this is totally opposite. Try shooting both at 100 yards and let me know (HONESTLY!) which is better.
I like the AK style sights better on the Draco as well. Both guns look nice but I really think the Draco outshoots the PAP.
Plus that foreskin looking thing on the end of the PAP barrel looks retarded.

Either way, Its an AK pistol and will only go up in value once they run dry.

I don't envision using a ak or ar pistol at 100 yards. If I wanted something for that I would get the Bulgarian arsenal and sbr it. To me this is something at 25 yards or less. Would be hard to shoot now and compare since I sold the Draco during the panic.

Rear sight on top cover usually leads to less than desired accuracy , due to zero shift when top cover is removed.

I am not sure what you mean by removed as it would take a grinding wheel to take it off. Have you worked on one of these? The top cover on the PAP is not EASILY removable. It is made to swivel up away from the receiver. The gun I have has almost zero play in the top cover due to that fact. It locks in tight. I would say the sights are any accuracy problems. But you better be really really good to shoot an AK pistol at 100 yds offhand with any repeatable accuracy in my thoughts.

The back sight is a flippable type and the primary setting is marked 2 and the next setting is marked 4. The rear sight is a notch with two white dots on either side. The front sight has two options, one is the tradition AK post and the other is a flip up wide white dot which I am sure attributes to some of the issues (if there are truly any) at shooting at 100 yds or more. I would only expect (with the configuration of either an AR or AK pistol as they are) to reasonably hit targets at 100 yards and not with any consistency in a standing position without using a stock or sig brace or some means to steady it. And if you are going to use a stock, or brace or benchrest it to shoot then why not get something different.

This gun fits a niche to me, its fun to shoot, its loud, and compact rifle cartridge shooting piece. Its a truck gun or trunk gun and maybe a BOB one (yes heavy I know) as well if you want to consider that you can now get them for $400 each if you know where to go. They were considerably more when they came out though.

I picked one up from Buds a few months ago. I love mine. Shoots well and has a heck of a fireball. Last time I was in Classic Arms in Lexington they had them for $399.

Mine from Buds was $419 shipped + tax + $15 ffl fee. Last time I checked he raised his prices on these.

Mine was considerably more than that and I thought about picking another one up. However, mine was gotten right before the panic so I guess I am not too disappointed. I always thought it was way overpriced at that time but the wholesale was high (I saw the dealers websites on it) and I guess they paid off the new tooling on the top cover or whatever they had to do and dropped the price.

The top cover is removable
Even if it is tight
Can not remove the bolt with out removing the top cover
The rear sight is fixed on top cover.
When a sight is moved the zero changes.

You mean the top cover may be opened. You can't remove it from the gun without damage.

Semantics

No I said removable
Aks have removable top covers, unless it is not to remove.

Oops wrong again

How cares, this is never a target gun anyway.

They're quite decent for the price (around $400 from many vendors) and build up just fine as an SBR. We've worked on several and have found their craftsmanship to be above average in all cases. Certainly benefit from removing the muzzle nut and using a decent flash hider or suppressor (Kestrel AK gets our vote).

Keep in mind the M85 is chrome lined if that's your thing. Most people say the PAP is better quality than the Draco. I like both of them.

I'm really wanting an ak pistol lately. Any of you guys tried the sig brace for the ak? I'd love to shoot one before starting on the setup.

I put the AK brace on a Polish Hell pup, and it was FUN!!!, so I have ordered a red dot sight for it and can't wait until I get it going, I'd say go ahead just for the fun, its a blast. I will try and post a pic later.
