Didn’t see a damn thing yesterday.
All I saw yesterday was a big white dog. Saw him on my cameras today as well so may of been dumped. I’m sure he’s keeping the deer away too.

Re: Deer Season 2023

I had to LOL when I just looked through my trail cam pics. This is why my knee and back still hurt, LOL! https://i.imgur.com/SGECwOK.jpg That’s why I bought the jet sled I’ve been using. Throw the deer in it & it slides over everything & seldomly gets hung up. Takes about 1/3 the effort than draggi...

Went out this morning. No one else in the woods to get them moving I guess. Started getting gusty wind so I left. Will be back out Saturday too.

Best tasting deer would fit in a carry-on bag, but I don't think anyone goes out just to hunt tiny deer.
Button buck I got last year was pretty tasty& tender.

Re: Deer Season 2023

I hunt to fill the freezer but I’m not going to pass up a nice buck. I did let some does pass opening morning because I didn’t like the shot I would have had to take. Buck came thru & gave me a good open broadside shot so I took him. Plan on going out for a doe to ad to the freezer since I took a we...

Re: Deer Season 2023

Oh yea, just an FYI for those that hunt solo. Every year I'll pick up one of the long wooden pallets, usually from Lowe's before they toss them. I use that as a ladder/ramp to pull my deer up into the back of my truck. I'm old now and just can't sling these deer like I used to. I use a jet sled to ...

Re: Deer Season 2023

Seen more deer in one day than I've ever seen before. I let a bunch walk, mostly 2 years or younger. I had one huge buck stay in the brush and then walked over the hill and 5 minutes later I hear "BAM!" Well, I figured the next big body buck to come through would be mine. Finally at 1pm, right when...

Re: Deer Season 2023

Had 4 come thru about 9:15. Front 3 were definitely slick heads. Passed on the 1st trying to get a look at the 4th to see if it was a buck chasing the does. Never got a good look at the head.
