Re: New Hauler!
Yeah mkwife acted like she was embarrassed with me there. It was pretty cool just to see the cars lined up. I have to say I was a bit disappointed though, the original roadster has been restored and painted since I was there last. It was way cooler before: dents and scratches, torn seats. Now its t...

This one is still in its glory with body damage though. I didn't ask the price but I should have.

Re: New Hauler!
I'm not getting rid of the 4 spd. A guy wants to trade me a c6 for my 49 Merc so that's getting swapped into the truck. I think its a better choice for this project right now.

Re: New Hauler!
Old thread but I dug it out for a reason. The green 79 is getting a transformation. Son fucked it up, smashed it into a fence and then took out the transmission the next spring after it was back on the road. Its been sitting in my shop for almost a year since I towed it there. Not sure what to do wi...

Re: Non Ruger rimfire pict's
I never saw this thread until now. This is the best .22 I've got. Its a Colt conversion unit on an S70 frame. I sold my Ruger after putting this together and tried it. https://i.imgur.com/Lxqt7Vq.jpg My other non-Ruger rimfire pistola is this one. Its a spinny gun but it may be even better than the ...

Re: Probably the best vehicle ever made!
My first car was a 76 Dart (2 door hardtop with a 318). I paid 400 bucks for it, it wasn't an awesome car but I took care of it and tried to maintain it as much as I could with zero mechanical ability or skills. All my spare time was spent trying to teach myself about mechanics and making my car bet...

Re: Probably the best vehicle ever made!
My 17 year old stepson (he was too lazy to get his permit until then, and his mom would drop everything at a moment's notice and shuttle him anywhere...) was given a one-owner '97 Honda CR-V, and was only responsible for putting gas in it...within months it had a dented hood from standing on it, th...

Re: Probably the best vehicle ever made!
I'd agree 100% but I'm also trying to teach my daughter how to drive. And MKwife needs a helper driver when I'm gone. Its not ideal but we need him driving sometimes.WLJ wrote:The perfect ride for a teenager who keeps wrecking cars

Re: Probably the best vehicle ever made!
I was concerned about the size too, (more car around you in case of a wreck) but along with size usually comes more motor. I could have bought an older Crown Vic or something but then he'd just boil the tires off it and get into trouble. Tough to know which way to go with it, there are pros and cons...

Probably the best vehicle ever made!
I dropped a g note on this piece of shit a couple weeks ago because my daughter is learning to drive, and my son treats vehicles like a red-headed stepchild. 98 Toyota Tercel. 1.5 litre, 5 speed manual, manual everything. Its whored out, high miles, and hopefully it will take him down a notch. Doesn...

Re: New Project Truck
Re-used the tank. Used a pressure washer for an hour to blast out the inside and then re-installed. New fuel lines and a filter to collect any remaining crap. Fuel pump wouldn't work until I realized I needed to prime the system then it ran on its own. I did a lap around the yard, not used to a non-...

Re: New Project Truck
Just wondering how stuff can sit out like that and not rust in Canada. I thought it would be a moist climate that would promote rust. There's plenty of rusty hulks here. Dept of Highways uses a lot of salt in the winter but not as bad as places like Ontario. One saving grace is if the vehicle was u...

New Project Truck
Just brought this 49 Merc 3/4 ton home today. Cost me a 6 pack of beer cause my brother dragged it out of the bush with his skidsteer for me. My son dumped gas in the carb while I cranked it over. It runs. It has zero rust in the cab and doors, and has a dump box. And a 255 flathead. Win. http://i.i...

Just picked up this old Colt S80 9mm. Got a bunch of ammo from the BHP days so should be fun. Gonna use it when I finally get out to try 3 gun.

Got power to it, starter works and it turns over. No spark, looking into the coils now. Suggestions are welcome, I'm no wiz at electrical.

Yeah I'm not too worried about finding parts, I can scrounge and make things work. I sold off most of my junk a few years ago but I still have my xs650/xl350 bastard I can rob if I need to.

Re: Just bought a bike
No pic? Think flat black yamaha twin that looks like it went over a cliff, with weather checked tires, seat missing, misc lights missing, and angle iron struts in place of rear shocks. Then you'll have a pretty good idea of what it looks like.

Just bought a bike
Last week I saw a dude rolling through the town I'm working in with a trailer full of junk. This beauty was strapped to the side, I was stopping at the same convenience store so I asked him what he wanted for it. A deal was struck for the princely sum of a pack of cigarettes, and I was the new owner...

Re: Colt Lightweight Sporter Carbine
Put a CTR stock on it today just to get it working again and my son and I went to the range. Pretty wet but still had a good time. The 16" worked great, he put about 300 rds through it. I put about the same through my 10.5" but it seemed a bit fussier and I had a few ftf issues. Using LAR mags as ri...
