Re: Gun Control Watch
I wondered when they would get around to noticing all the parts kits being sold by the various Gunbusters companies on GunBroker. Apparently a bunch of police agencies contract with companies to destroy crime guns and those companies have been destroying the frames (which is legally the firearm) and...

Re: S&W 686-1 FS--Reduced--Last Bump
Are there any guns you might be interested in as a partial trade? I prefer to sell, so I haven't really thought about trades. Did you have anything in mind? Not really, I just was curious if there was something you really wanted, like maybe you were selling this one to buy a different gun. My littl...

An AR-15 is a breech loaded firearm. Guess it’s OK. They didn’t even spell breech correctly.

Buy scope mounts and rings from a maker you’ve heard of, and avoid fancy stuff like windage adjustment unless you actually need it. The simpler the better.

I’ve bought a ton of folding knives in my life, but after Spyderco released the Paramilitary 2 my knife search was over.
I did buy a Para 3 lightweight that’s nice if you want a smaller version.

Re: Reloading case lube?
Imperial sizing die wax is the very best, but you really only need it for heavy case forming. Lanolin/alcohol spray is good, but so (believe it or not) is wire pulling lube from the hardware store. You can use it like a regular lube or you can dilute it with water or alcohol and use it in a spray bo...

I made chicken etouffe with rice from a box of Tony Chachere’s mix. It wasn’t as good as I had hoped.

I bought a Chevy truck once, and I inherited one. Those two trucks are all I need to make sure I never buy another GM product.

When you look at the electoral maps every state is a red state. The problem is that some of them contain enough blue cities to cancel out the rural and suburban voters.

Re: Meet the new Springifield Echelon
I checked out a Smith 4506 at a shop today in Mt Washington. You talk a hunk of a gun. Freaking TANK.. I love the 3rd Gen Smiths, but I’m not planning on buying another one. If you break something simple like the slide stop pin or the side plate it’s getting really hard to find replacement parts. I...

Re: Used car shopping for daughter
looked at some mazdas but they seem to have that CVT (continuously variable transmission) which i have heard "not so favorable" things about. especially as they get to 100k miles I didn’t think any Mazdas had a CVT. They are one of the few holdouts. All their new cars have conventional six speed AT.

Isn’t one of you a gunsmith?
I seem to recall a member who is still active here saying he did gunsmithing. Is that correct? I would love to have a LH 22 rifle with a threaded barrel but I’ve only found two makers and the cheapest one is Tikka at around $700. I’m thinking I could pick up a LH Savage and have it threaded and stil...
