From what I understand as long as the barrel is full of water you are ok. If barrel isn't full of water, bullet will slow down or stop when it meets water, which acts like a bore obstruction.

And the ammo is good stuff too. The biggest fireball I have seen from a Mosin-Nagant was using PP 150 gr. soft-point ammo.

I have used Prvi partizan brass for my 7.5x55 Swiss rifles, 7.62x54R, 8 x56R and 6.5x55 Swede with no problems. Another thing, Wolf GOLD is loaded by Prvi and is Boxer primed.

+2 to Rem700. Met and talked to him for about 15 minutes about Mosin-Nagant rifles and also got a good deal on some ammo.

I didn't see any bore brushes today, but the ones I have seen in the past were pretty worn out.

Let me see what I have around here. If I find a kit I will bring it tomorrow.

By the way, I believe that is a Model RST4. I bought a RST6 (6" bbl.) back in 1977 new for $78 out the door. Wish I had never sold it.
