Post your rifle/carbine weight
Finally finished my rock river facelift. The gun is around 3 lbs lighter and at the same time is more ergonomic and more reliable. It went from almost 12 lbs to 9.4lbs in rock and roll mode. 7.8 lbs without the sling and magazine. The gun has sling, back up flips, 15 inch rail covered gas block, lig...

Re: Firstlight vs Surefire
Hmmm. I'm a big fan of Streamlight over Surefire, but will have to look into them. I'm always up for trying out new options. I carry a USB rechargeable Streamlight on my belt and a TLR1 on my gun, with an Ultrastinger right next to me. Too bad Sreamlight doesn't offer this type of T&E set up. I agr...

Re: Firstlight vs Surefire
When shooting with the lights i became completely uninterested in using the Firstlight lights. While dry firing they seem great, even better than the switchback ring. When actually firing though, the crenelated battery cover ate my fingers up under recoil. The pocket clip was uncomfortable as well a...

Re: Firstlight vs Surefire
When it comes to the Tomahawk LE vs the 6PX Defender things get interesting. The lights have similar output with the Tomahawk being brighter but not noticibly so. The Tomahawk has modes just like the tmax and for a off duty/edc light that is a huge plus. Its not that it has modes but it also has the...

Re: Firstlight vs Surefire
Thanks for the write-up, I've never heard of these guys before this. For those interested, their T&E program is for Military, LE, or industry professionals (trainers, potential dealers, security officers) and is in effect a lot more like a Pro Deal than a T&E program. They'll send you a code to use...

Firstlight vs Surefire
I was sent two Firstlight flashlights to try out by the company last month, and compair them to my current duty light setup. I personally never heard of Firstlight and when a friend asked me about them i checked into the brand. The web page has a t&e requeat form so i sent in a request and was appro...

Re: ...and those IRS agents need M4's, too
So what. 82,000 employees to handle over 200 million tax refunds in only a few months of the year, plus the other tax collection duties the rest of the year. Do the math on that. I dont see a problem. And thats coming from a conservative libertarian. Fox is just as guilty of twisting facts around as...

In KY it does. 503.085 provides criminal and civil immunity if you are justified in use of force.Gunsmokin wrote:I'm not a lawyer, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express. Pretty sure a not guilty verdict in a criminal proceeding does nothing to insulate that person from a civil lawsuit.

Re: Active Shooter Drill
As a SRO for a very large school in my county, i like the lock the door drill. If shots are fired at the school im working in, i dont want to have to make my way to the fight through a panic crowd of innocent students that will make it harder to return fire. Also many shooters have plans of hearding...

Looks good, and my 99 f350 could use this mod. Where do you get the hella bulbs? Are they same watt 55? I dont have the hella bulbs yet. They are 80 watt low 100 watt hi beam. I can have O'REILLY order them for $20 or order from amazon for 19.99. Probably gonna have O'REILLY order them incase they ...

Re: headlight upgrade options
This was so easy i seriously thought about making kits and selling them with bulbs. I have about $75 into this upgrade with materials left over. The Hella off road bulbs im looking at are $20. So total investment will be $95. Some things i didnt show in the pictures like the the black wireloom for ...

Re: headlight upgrade options
After pics. Much brighter more intense hot spot. Much whither light. No glare. This upgrade is safer all around, not just for my vision, but for oncoming traffic as well due to less glare. I attribute the less glare and better focus to the buffing of the lenses and the whiter light to the wire harne...

Re: headlight upgrade options
Because i like a good project, i have decided to build my own harness. I measured voltage drop and im loosing approximately 3 volts at the headlights on the factory aged wiring. I went to napa and bought a pair of hi temp 9007 headlight sockets and 2 relays for high and low beam for $26. From my rea...

DDM4 torture test video
https://youtu.be/uMUASQMt5l8 I know this is an old video but i just watched it. Couple things stood out to me. Disclaimer! I am not hating on DD! This video is much talked about by people singing DD praises, yet the rifle fails the 2nd test. Water test, 2 rounds fire and then short stroke. Another t...

Looking to upgrade my headlights on my ford excursion. Im trying to decide the best route. My headlight housings are fogged badly and arent the newer clear style. Option 1: Buff headlight housings. Install aftermarket thicker gague wire harness to headlihts. Install phillips extreme vision bulbs. Op...

Anybody got a used 14.5 barrel sitting around. Not a heavy barrel. Prefer 1:7 chrome lined.
